Team name already in use?
So, I'm trying to give this game a second chance, but it's not making it easy. I'm trying to re-make a team for solo play, but the game keeps telling me that the name is already in use. I have deleted the team--i.e., it doesn't exist any more--but I'm still not able to re-create the team?

I'm assuming the game regsiters the name with an online database (or something)--which is fine, if I was playing in a multiplayer league--but I'm not. So, what's the deal here?

Is the game really so badly designed that I can't even recreate a team for SOLO PLAY?

Please, someone teall me I'm missing something .... after raging about how badly this game was at release, to be met with this ridiculous situation now is just beyond laughable.

What's the name of the team anyway? There was a change in a patch that you can bring your single player team into open league play if you want. That might have something to do with it.

Someone else could have used the name. Just a theory.

Btw, you make a team then join a league. So it checks the name at creation cause it doesn't know what you're gonna do with it. You could play solo for awhile then stick it in a private league. Its just how it works.

Team names have to be unique. Single player teams can play in certain private leagues and they might one day be allowed to join the main Open League. It's really not ridiculous, it's par for the course for onlne games.

Probably. Lots of common names are obviously taken.

add a 1 or a 2 at the end no 1 will notice

Use a special character from your windows character map ăóøćï are some examples. It's an old trick we used to do in World of Warcraft for unique character names.

Alternativly, you could use your imgaination and come up with a new name...

The best idea might be to create team names after the formula of the tabletop formula of "City/Region" "Team Name" but with a city name you made up yourself. It's incredibly unlikely that anybody else will ever come up with the same combination.

Well, to clarify ....

I created a new Chaos team yesterday ....just for fun, since I haven't play BB in quite a while. But I didn't like the way the team creation process completely messed up the roster. Seriously, the lack of adjustment options on the team creation screen is hilariously bad. It is so poorly designed, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I realized my gold spending had been misallocated. No re-draft options? No clear roster option? LoL ... what?

Anyway .... I deleted the team and started over ... but to my surprise, I wasn't allowed to re-use the team name I HAD JUST USED with the team I HAD JUST DELETED. Again ... LoL (?)

While I understand that you can (apparently) throw your solo-play teams into multiplayer leagues (uh ... ok), the fact that I can't even re-create a team after deleting it AT STARTUP, in a solo league, is too ludicrous for words. I mean, it's just stupid. To register the name at startup, before you've linked it to a league, is just bad design ... or, I take that back, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy design is what it is. Instead of creating tools to register names after the fact--or provide a way to fast-track a team for one league mode only--this is what you get: a hopelessly painful team creation process, where, if you mess up, you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ... oh, and if you want to change the name, you're screwed there, too. LoL. Great game.
