Why are you always adding prototypes and fictional stuff when theres so many interesting ships that actually went to sea.
Whats next youre gonna add the sistership akagi as a premium but also ignore that she was converted or something like that?
Hi, we recently did testing from August 22nd - August 29th for this feature. We're now in the process of analysing data obtained and reading feedback. We'll likely be making some changes based on these two factors, and then it'll be implemented sometimes after the major update releases. Our closing statement on it is here, in cased you missed it:
Can you tell us Naval fans what the status is about Sbumarines? i mean the event last year with the WWII subs and destroyers, was one of the sickest events i have ever played in warthunder! the atmosphere there was insane.
Also are you guys actually planing on maybe changing AA on Battleships/Cruisers to not be Automated by the A.I?
What would speak against it? i mean you fire of your main caliber and have a reload of up to 51 seconds on your main gun.
So if a player in a plane should come in, you would get a Audio warning by the sailers that a plane is approaching for this and that direction, and you have to aim with your AA on the plane and shoot it down.
The only ones who would have automated AA guns, would be Destroyers.
I play Naval alot, and its such a shame, that nearly NOOOOO one!!! is using planes in this game mode, while we have soooo manny planes especially in the US tree, where you could sneak up on to a ship and drop torpedos.
I never ever managed to kill a ship with torpedos, since its nearly impossible to even get close to them due to the insane AI AA hammering you down from kilometers away.
Yeah I see what you're getting at but I would disagree with your assertion that no one ever uses planes. I've been playing naval for about 6 years. The only mode I care for is the Enduring Confrontation battles, which only open during the weekend unfortunately. There plenty of people use planes. On most maps there are air specific objectives(*cough* Not Saipan *cough*). There's bases for Bombers to bomb and Air points to be capped. Plus there's plenty of enemy AI planes to take out typically, like attackers, bombers, and recon planes. The issue is, the game mode is often hard to get into when it's actually running since it's a special weekend event, and the server performance can suffer when alot of projectiles are being tracked(typically when planes are involved..so much AA).
It's not to say that the AA on ships isn't deadly, because it is, but it's fun to take a Me264, or He177 and learn how to hit ships from on high. It's actually great high altitude bombing practice for moving targets. You're extremely lucky if the player has AA turned off or they have a ship with trash AA capability.
Bottom line, I would like to see back end improvements made so that naval as a whole runs better, and EC held more frequently. Yes it's a 3 hour battle, but if you pull your weight, and do well, you walk away with a hefty amount of money and RP. Especially if it's Realistic level.
