Ok so we get the Murmansk, nice, but viewing the Russian tech tree and the already available choices, it will going to be a rare encounter, even as premium.

Since the Novorossiysk (Italian war "trophy") is already in the game, this leaves room for the battleship Archangelsk (ex British Royal Sovereign), at least this is/was a 15-inch battleship which was not only a planned ship or some incomplete hull, but which actually existed in reality and in service in the Soviet Fleet....

I did some research and it looks like this ship never existed, the only Murmansk I found was a soviet built light cruiser of the Sverdlov-class which looks nothing like this. Turns out, Gaijin made this up to give the soviets yet another OP ship.

It did exist, this was the US Omaha-Class light cruiser Milwaukee on lease to the Soviets from 1944 to 1949 - and it is far from OP, I'd rather say it's just the opposite - useless...

I like naval and play it quite a bit, but a ship being the main battlepass prize and basically a reskin of an already existing vessel is a great way to annoy players that like and don't like this gamemode. Like, what's the thought process behind this? Can someone enlighten me?

Hmm... another Omaha. But I had it in WOWS too, and i kinda liked it there, a goes well with what little USSR tech-tree still has at 5.0 (their DDs should go back to 5.0); so if the other rewards are "acceptable" (unlike the current BP's) I'm not gonna skip it.
