You are telling people to update their Windows... when Windows update is the sole reason of this happening xD I [/quote]
If they are using Win 11 that is a possibility. But if they are using Win 10, 8, Linux, Mac etc then they should not be impacted by the Win 11 issue. If they have this issue on an OS that is not Win 11, then the Dev's would need to know about it. :) It would also need to be investigated and determined if in fact the Win 11 issue was the cause. Otherwise it is just idle speculation. :)
If it is a firewall issue then it is an issue with your AV software. Not Gaijin's. My AV software has absolutely no issue with War Thunder as all. I just had a Windows update for my Win 10 and I am running the game with no issues.
False positives on some 'free' AV software is well known. They often use the mechanic to convince ppl to buy the version of their software that costs money! Thus is is nothing more (often) than a cheap marketing stunt. I would encourage ppl to buy the best AV software that they can afford.
You should be able to add War Thunder to your Exception or Trusted list to avoid this though.
I do have windows 11.
1. updated drivers
2. verified files
3. uninstalled/reinstalled
4.fixed the anti cheat
5.cleared my cache
Note that after i do all of this i can get into exactly 2 matches and I've done this process twice now.
Closing the "crashpad handler" helped on my system as well! thx!!
Using Ryzen 9 3900X & Radeon RX 6800 XT
UPDATE: even after updating your drivers, the issue still comes back. The only way I was able to get the game to actually launch is by closing "crashpad_handle" from the Task Manager. It's annoying to do this every single time you launch the game from steam but yeah its either do this or use the actual manual launcher but at the cost of not saving your playtime through steam.
