SOLVED for now fix was a clean graphics driver install lol

Got the same problem since today, very annoying. Uninstalled the entire Nvidia Graphic Card Driver, reinstalled an older version (32.05.15.6094 from 14.08.2024, RTX 3070). Seemed to work for me at least, stutters are gone. Might need to tweak with VSync around, I have to play with it on otherwise I have insane screen tearing. Might also want to Clean Install Nvidia GeForce and Graphic Drivers at this point. I swear with every patch of Nvidia something or some game always breaks. Addition: Try to disable DLSS, try TAA or if your GPU is strong enough TAA + 4x SSAA. DLSS tends to cause problems for some people like me. If using TAA, increase the Temporal Resolution Scale for higher resolution. Also tip: sometimes Frame Latency can cause severe problems, e.g.: You PC can theoreticaly run War Thunder on 100 FPS, but you have depending on the scenery lag spikes due to a large amount of gemoetry, vehicles, effects etc. Your FPS might get inconsistent if you have your FPS unlocked. They might constantly move between 120-60 for example. Try limiting your frames via Nvidia Control Panel / GeForce. Set the individual frame limit for War Thunder to your max FPS limit of your monitor, for me its 60. Also decreased your CPU / GPU load a lot, so your frames overall might get a lot more consistent and micro stutters can be eliminated that way. Hope something of this helps.

Hi,
Can you please stop any other external applications that use bandwidth. ie: social media, streaming platforms like YouTube, Discord or similar. Have only War Thunder running.
Can you please first try the options below and see if these fix the issue.

Please update Windows as indicated by both AMD and NVIDIA FIRST. As indicated at their sites - then:
Please read the Knowledge Base on making a report.
https://wiki.warthunder.com/index.php?title=Knowledgebase&oldid=164658
Please clear the cache, verify the files and remove all custom content.

If this does not correct the issue, please do the following.

Can you please remove the current graphics driver(s) using DDU (or similar). https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

Please ensure that you follow the instructions and use Safe Mode.

Then re-install/install the latest driver(s) and re-test.

In order to investigate issues thoroughly we need ALL the files asked for. We need the game version, Relevant screenshots(Taken using the in game screenshot function and please do not change the filenames. Please take screenshot(s) at the time the event occurs)
Replay's(both client and server - if available), clog, and Dxdiag.

If you are experiencing FPS drops or other performance problems, it is necessary to create a performance log.
To create such a log you will need to start the game, enter a battle and press left ALT+F11 to enable, or disable the log recording. At the moment of performance drop you will need to mark the time in the log by a single press of the F11 button.
After that in the folder with logs “Folder with game.game_logs\” will appear a file with the extension .dap, which should be attached to the report. Please run the Profiler tool - (Alt+F11), spikes are created in the spikes-date_time.dap; pressing F11 creates - ring-datetime.dap

Video's can be useful, but they DO NOT negate the need for the replay files. Can you please mount video's on a streaming site. Most of the Technical Moderation team are volunteers. If we were to download every video, in each report, most of us would exceed our monthly ISP download levels and either end up losing, or paying extra for our connections.
Whilst one small video is fine. Multiple large videos could quickly become an issue given the number of reports that we handle. Your consideration with this issue is appreciated.

Please provide the steps to replicate the issue

Can you please report it here > Technical Forum https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder Select your Operating system etc. Or you can report it from the game under the Community tab in the hangar.

managed to help solve the problem which was one of 2 things: 1) update graphic driver to newest version with a clean installation.
2) potentially oculus runtime service was causing slowdowns but didnt get chance to test that as the issue solved itself since updating graphics.
