planes unflyable now with gamepad (SOLVED)

Not sure what changed, but my controls for xbox-one controller are screwed and i don't know how to revert to the state it was prior todays patch(?).

Whereas earlier i could fly a plane with the left stick, push gas and brake with the left stick it's now all divided into left&right stick and that's uncontrollable. The gas/brake and rolling is on the right stick and the up/down, roatate is on the left stick.

How do i revert back, is it even possible to revert back?!

(hmm, strange you can't mark your own answer as marked answer, but for anyone having the same problems with a gamepad, it's the one with mouse steering layout to choose)

Hmmm, xbox controller, do you play on PC? Have you ever made a backup of your keybinds/controller setup?

If yes, check this folder ..:\Documents\My Games\WarThunder\Saves

...there, all user made settings are stored.

hmm, nothing i possibly could work with which is stored there. Yesterday everything was fine and today i got a message while flying that nick(neck?) & roll is not configured. Resetting to default xbox-profile didn't do anything either. When first playing the game, weeks ago, i did the same, using default xbox-profile. I never touched any bindings.

Edit : Resetting to default xbox-profile did get rid of the messages, that something is not configured. So i assume the update today changed something or messed something up. But question remains, how to revert back?!

Controls from time to time do change due to new functions being implemented or changes made to improve things. Did you back up your controller settings as suggested?

Hmm, the settings are allready screwed, so why do a backup? The backup is actually the option to reset to default settings or apply the xbxox controller profile again. Both options give me this new controller bindings.

I would reassign if i would know how the old bindings even looked. I allready wasted an hour with all this no success.

well, i couldn't find any solution and the game offers no solution aswell....uninstalled. It's like the phrase "Never change a running system", not every improvement is really a improvement for the user.

You can map the controls to what you want. You can then back them up to another drive etc so that they can be replaced if needed.

Can you please first try the options below and see if these fix the issue.

Please update Windows as indicated by both AMD and NVIDIA FIRST. As indicated at their sites - then:

Please clear the cache, verify the files and remove all custom content.

We need the game version, screenshots(taken using the in game screenshot function and please do not change the filenames), Replay's(both client and server, console version number etc.
Please ensure all custom content is removed first and that you are running a 'vanilla' version of the game.

Video's can be useful, but they DO NOT negate the need for the replay files. Can you please mount video's on a streaming site. Most of the Technical Moderation team are volunteers. If we were to download every video, in each report, most of us would exceed our monthly ISP download levels and either end up losing, or paying extra for our connections.
Whilst one small video is fine, multiple large videos could quickly become an issue given the number of reports that we handle. Your consideration with this issue is appreciated.

Can you also provide the steps to replicate the issue.

If the above does not correct the issue then please report it to the Technical Forum here https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder Select your Operating system etc. Or you can report it from the game under the Community tab in the hangar.
In order to investigate issues thoroughly we need ALL the files asked for.

What's kinda confusing, there was never a changelog mentioning any update for gamepads. The change is significant aswell. So,surely it should have been mentioned at least.
Anyway, the developers seem to have added additional bindings where you can't just simply revert back (i guess). That's why these messages appeared that some bindings are empty when starting the game with the new update from this week....atleast i have not spend any money on this game. Adios :)

It won't be specific to gamepad's as sucb. It will be changes to the way some functions are triggered etc. As indicated the bindings are never fixed. They change all the time as new functionality is added to the game.

That's fine and depending on the case, good or bad. But in this case, in my case with gamepad it didn't make it better, it made it worse. You do have more control due to using two sticks with different functionality, but it got way more complicated to navigate the planes....the point is to win the dogfights in this game and you need a fluid controllable control scheme, like it used to be.

Then configure the bindings to your preference. Also, understand the game is played on multiple platforms.

I do not know if this is related, but in PC, when I go into cockpit mode, my controls are all messed up with mouse aim. It was fine before the latest patch.

one thing crossed my mind, normally the best way to fly planes is with a joystick, right?! That has only one big stick, wouldn't it be possible to use that joystick scheme for xbox one controller?!
