War Thunder

Statistiche:
Games changes desktop resolution when trying to start.
Hello everyone, I ran into a very bizarre issue today.

When I try to start the game the tiny window with the War Thunder picture shows up, loading easy anti-cheat. All good so far. But as soon as the game "launches" it starts changing the whole desktop resolution (atleast that's how it looks like) and that multiple times a second. That goes one for easily half a minute before it "started" minimized. When I open the minimized game I hear the main menu sound but it's like the resolution runs at like 50x20 pixels. Can't see anything. It's just light blueish color and when I move my mouse around it sometimes shows up but very huge and pixelated.

Reinstalling helped once before it started doing it again. This time I tried to reinstall, it's still running into the same issue. I clean installed graphics drivers, no luck.

I have no idea what to do. Any ideas? I apprecaite you guys for reading.

Hi,
Can you please first try the options below and see if these fix the issue.

Please update Windows as indicated by both AMD and NVIDIA FIRST. As indicated at their sites - then:

https://wiki.warthunder.com/index.php?title=Knowledgebase&oldid=164658
Please clear the cache, verify the files and remove all custom content.

If this does not correct the issue, please do the following.

Can you please remove the current graphics driver(s) using DDU (or similar). https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

Please ensure that you follow the instructions and use Safe Mode.

Then re-install/install the latest driver(s) and re-test.

We need the game version, screenshots(taken using the in game screenshot function and please do not change the filenames), Replay's(both client and server), clog, & dxdiag.
Please ensure all custom content is removed first and that you are running a 'vanilla' version of the game.

Video's can be useful, but they DO NOT negate the need for the replay files. Can you please mount video's on a streaming site. Most of the Technical Moderation team are volunteers. If we were to download every video, in each report, most of us would exceed our monthly ISP download levels and either end up losing, or paying extra for our connections.
Whilst one small video is fine, multiple large videos could quickly become an issue given the number of reports that we handle. Your consideration with this issue is appreciated.

Can you also provide the steps to replicate the issue.

If the above does not correct the issue then please report it to the Technical Forum here https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder Select your Operating system etc. Or you can report it from the game under the Community tab in the hangar.
In order to investigate issues thoroughly we need ALL the files asked for.

Thanks

Okay so, I did some more testing on my own. It seems to be an issue with "fullscreen" and the game. If I try to start with fullscreen the error occurs. When I choose "windowed" I get an warning that my selected resolution is too large for my screen. And it ask if I am sure. Which makes no sense cause the selected resolution and my screen resolution are the same. So it feels like when I try to start in fullscreen, since the game thinks it dosen't fit, it messes with my resolution until it just borks? But once it's started and I am ingame, I can select fullscreen and it works. Just next start it starts breaking again since it has issues with fullscreen.

Fullscreen window works as well. So this issue is exclusively to "fullscreen"
