Whilst this issue certainly exists for some. It is NOT universal. We are all running the same code and game. So claims that it is the 'game at fault' are often over stated, with no actual evidence to support these conclusions. With what I have stated in mind, however we DO investigate all reported instances of this issue. Very often, we cannot replicate the issue. I would point out as well, that about 65% of the time we cannot replicate issues presented in reports!
When we investigate we ask for certain things to be carried out so we have extensive information on the connection and game performance etc.
Can you please stop any other external applications that use bandwidth. ie: social media, streaming platforms like YouTube, Discord or similar. Have only War Thunder running. Try to use a cable connection to your machine and not a wi-fi connection. Wi-fi connections are shared by all in the household/unit complex etc. There is only so much bandwidth and that bandwidth is 'sliced' into bits for each user. Do not use a VPN connection.
Can you please first try the options below and see if these fix the issue.
Please update Windows as indicated by both AMD and NVIDIA FIRST. As indicated at their sites - then:
Please read the Knowledge Base on making a report.
https://wiki.warthunder.com/index.php?title=Knowledgebase&oldid=164658
Please clear the cache, verify the files and remove all custom content.
If this does not correct the issue, please do the following.
Can you please remove the current graphics driver(s) using DDU (or similar). https://www.wagnardsoft.com/
Please ensure that you follow the instructions and use Safe Mode.
Then re-install/install the latest driver(s) and re-test.
In order to investigate issues thoroughly we need ALL the files asked for. We need the game version, relevant screenshots(taken using the in game screenshot function and please do not change the filenames) Replay's(both client and server - if available), clog, and Dxdiag.
If you are experiencing FPS drops or other performance problems, it is necessary to create a performance log.
To create such a log you will need to start the game, enter a battle and press left ALT+F11 to enable, or disable the log recording. At the moment of performance drop you will need to mark the time in the log by a single press of the F11 button.
After that in the folder with logs “Folder with game.game_logs\” will appear a file with the extension .dap, which should be attached to the report. Please run the Profiler tool - (Alt+F11), spikes are created in the spikes-date_time.dap; pressing F11 creates - ring-datetime.dap
Video's can be useful, but they DO NOT negate the need for the replay files. Can you please mount video's on a streaming site. Most of the Technical Moderation team are volunteers. If we were to download every video, in each report, most of us would exceed our monthly ISP download levels and either end up losing, or paying extra for our connections. Whilst one small video is fine. Multiple large videos could quickly become an issue given the number of reports that we handle. Your consideration with this issue is appreciated.
Can you then please report it here > Technical Forum https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder Select your Operating system etc. Or you can report it from the game under the Community tab in the hangar.
Thanks
I really didn't need an "copy-paste support 101 answer".
Yes - i know... you use that so it will help 10% of people and make about 80% don't bother and forget the problem what will be fixed in patch few days/weeks later if it's broad-spread issue.
All i wanted is to know if it's Gajin Severs fault or My ISP because i'm 99.99% sure it's not an problem on my end. Sadly i didn't received an answer so i did some digging on my end.
Ofc. i can't be 100% sure. Solid 99% on other hand - why not. Culprit was:
Gajin servers.
Event overflow of people and your servers just can't handle that. :).
Speaking about opinion/stats etc.
Aren't you the the one with 11 years on "Experience"? Shouldn't you show me those amazing stats? :)
Mine are sadly under agreement so sorry i can't share mine - but veteran like you surly have some, right? To prove you'r point? :)
Where are the stats you were so proud of?
Second:
Why isn't everyone having the problems at the same time/at all?
Because everyone is connected to server by different route and amazon servers does use quite a lot of algorithms to prioritize (etc.) connections.
That's create an that's a whole rabbit hole that someone who claims to have "11 years of experience" should know pretty well.
Third:
Yes. Servers belongs to amazon.
Quite a lot of other games i play use amazon servers as well and i have zero problems with them.
Adding more to it - i didn't have a single problem with War Thunder servers before event started either.
(We don't count the DDOS attacks from >1y ago -> not gajins fault)
Adding even more to it - if player count is lower i don't have problems even now.
My friends didn't have problems either, since event started tho - even they get huge PL spikes from time to time and ofc. the "Operation timed out" what can even show in middle of the match if you are in platoon or game not being able to collect data about lineup in platoon and few more things like that.
That stuff wasn't happening before event.
Overflow of people because of the event is just overwhelming the "Server plan" (sorry for simplification) that gajin pays for and that's create connection problems for people.
