How do I link my Steam account to my Gaijin account?

So I'm trying to buy a decoration item for my tanks, but I don't have any money in my Gaijin account right now (which is the one signed into the game), but I do have enough for the item in my Steam wallet. I don't want to replace my Gaijin account because of the Stalinium Bundle I bought. Is there any way to link the two? (and yes, I googled how to do it but that didn't help).

Edit: I've tried the "Steam Login" button but it still signs me in to my Gaijin account

For one, the game’s launcher has to first be launched through steam. If you launch the launcher by itself it won’t be connected. Secondly there is the feature when signed in to link the gaijin account to the steam account.

I can’t remember if there’s other steps involved off the top of my head. I’ll move this to technical problems/advice for further assistance.

Use a search engine! That is what I did. "Bind Steam account to War Thunder" and the link above appears!

I don't get an email binding button. When I try the Steam login button it just signs me in with my Gaijin account

Is your account direct to the servers then. ie: Not through Steam? Is this how you set it up?

I set it up a few years ago off of the Gaijin client

I suspect then that this maybe the issue>
NOTE: email addresses which were already used for Gaijin accounts cannot be linked to Steam accounts.

Is the email address you used for your original account to the Gaijin web/game, different from the email you use for Steam?

Both are different

You can contact Support and discuss it with them. But both being different is an issue as the linking post indicates.

Thank you. I think I'll just add money to Gaijin and be done with it
