Discord Stream Stuttering
Hello, this problem is not documented as far as I can see. While my game consistantly runs well, I have been told of my stream being stuttery for a while and have been unable to pinpoint the problem. Does anyone know where I could look to solve that ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From what you are describing I imagine you have the game and Discord and possibly other applications all open at the same time? Is this the case? If so shut down some of your other applications. It sounds like your stream is being overwhelmed with information.

Depending on what sort of system you have and the memory available etc. All lot of the older machines will struggle with the bandwidth requirements for both the game and social media. This can also happen if you are using a wi-fi connection that is shared.

We see this often. Even enough to have made a Pinned post about it on the Gaijin

Hello, I should probably have been more precise : I tend to minimize the amount of applications I keep open (in that case, there were pretty much only Discord, Steam, the Gaijin Client and WT). I was streaming the War Thunder window (and not the whole screen, I don't really know if this makes much of a difference but I'll point it out just in case).

Here's the configuration :
- AMD Ryzen 7 1800X 8 Cores 16 Threads@ 4 GHz
- Geforce GTX 1070 Ti
- 16Gb RAM @ 3600 MHz
Given the performance I get here and in other applications,

This usually nets me 200 - 350 FPS in airplanes @1440p, Max Settings, without any noticeable stuttering on my end, and my POV is definitely unaffected while streaming. I'd think that this issue would be on Discord's side, but since this is the only game in which I encounter the issue, I am not so sure...

Bandwith is also unlikely to be the culprit, since I'm on a constant 100Mb upstream and downstream connection. Still, thank you very much for taking the time to answer me !

did you try limiting your fps (either by enabling vsync or use some frame limiter) ?

maybe the game being rendered at 200-350fps while the stream is getting displayed at 30fps (or 60fps) is causing some sort of stutter ?! (shot in the dark since i'm not a streamer ^^)

Seems unlikely, but it's true I usually don't reach such high framerates in the games I play. I'll give it a shot !
To be fair, I'm broadcasting what I do to a couple of friends, not actually streaming on Twitch or anything like that. I'll keep you posted whenever I get around to trying to cap the game !
