Gaijin possibly the most greedy company in industry?
This game is designed by industry experts in an extremely greedy way to make you addicted and spend alot of money.

Google Dopamine and how companies use it to make you addicted and a mindless consumer.

Ill explain quikly.

First they lur you in saying the game is free.

The first vehicles are easy to unlock.
You start to unlock new vehicles-you get a dopamine release in your brain.

As you start to learn the game and enjoy it, you start to try to unlock more vehicles, each time you do you get more and more dopamine released into your brain. This starts an addiction.

As soon as you clear rank 1 and rank 2, the vehicles start costing alot more research points to get, gradually increasing more in more the higher level you get.

This is when they start sucking you wallet out of you.
They have premium accounts-premium vehicles-crew research points-silver lions-vehicles cost more and more silver loins-they have research boosters-orders- ALL THIS YOU CAN USE REAL MONEY TO GET.

When you reach the mid high tear, and you get serious hard core players. THEY SPEND HUNDREDS IFNOT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to get competitive vehicles and stay top tear.

The worst part they still lurr more people in with "Free content" aka more vehicles, aka MORE RESEARCH AKA MORE MONEY $$$$

All this wile you play hundreds of rounds in the same old ww2 2014 designed maps, with minor changes in sound and lighting effects every now and then.

They continue to push and push more and more new vehicles and slowly start to fix gameplay issues like unbalances. They dont even have that clear.

They dont even have a single different game mode! ITS CAPTURE THE POINT EVERY SINGLE ROUND!!!!!

The game is so unbalanced from all the new vehicles they pump that they juggle around BR ratings like a circus trying to see where it fits.

This is a seriously terrible company. They have a great game, but its designed around sucking your money and they do not care about anything else. As long as they keep the consumer distracted enough from the truth to keep spending they will not stop.

This is one of the worst cases iv ever seen in how a game is designed to make people addicted and greedy in making the research time for each high tear vehicle so extreme that hard core players spend HUNDREDS of dollars to be competitive and to reach top tear.

I can assure you, you do not have high tear vehicles in this game, because if you did you would know when i say this company is terribly greedy.

I have spent over 500 dollars on this game, over 1.8k hours. I know what im talking about.

If you still think company aren't greedy because they have something for free, you will be eaten by the wolves in life and forever a sheep to consumerism.

you need to go and look at some other companies, try ea and fifa for a start,
i was shocked to find that changed every year and what you buy becomes worthless.

as for free, they give you events and vehicles,
they have given you a market to sell them,

they put premium time and vehicles on sale that you can buy with said game money from selling event vehicles.

there is nothing you can not get free in this game.

and yet here you are crying.

you spent your money because you wanted it to be easy and found that it was not.

people buy premium vehicles thinking they are buying pay to win,
there is only one in game and that has been nerfed but it is still a pain.
It is more of a problem today because it has already driven away people from top br.

ka50.

so no, I don't think they are the worst, not even close.

I have never spent a penny on this game and I'm usually in the top 3. It takes a lot of knowledge on where to shoot each tank to penetrate it. Try tank destroyers. They are weak but have very powerful guns. Call of duty is the most cash hungry company. 20$ for a lame skin and 60$ per season for a battle pass. I have no premium tanks but still do well.

I agree it's crazy the way the cost for the vehicles in research points increases exponentially level to level.
I was floored when I saw that my next level of american vehicles where in the 200.000 range just to research. You spend all that time doing research to get a vehicle then then want another 25% to 40% to put a crew in it.
And you can't just take one of your older crews..NO they make sure you spend the same amount to "retrain" (I love that term) one of your existing crews as you would to purchase a new crew.
Having said that I don't think I would spend $500 on this game.
I've been playing it now for a couple of years and I've probably only spent not even $100 on it. I like to economy buy.
First I wait for sales. I like the reduced research requirements they had a few months back that allowed me to get quite a few more vehicles. But mostly I will just buy Gold eagles for $25 at a shot. You can get I think 5,000 GE for that. And for me it goes a long way to doing a few things.
THE ONE THING THAT TOTALLY SUCKS.... is that you can't get any concealment camo for your vehicles without dishing out the money. $500 GE a frigg'in bush. Are they kidding!!
I see guys driving around with tanks totally covered and think..."My god did they really spend that much money just to cover up a tank in a game!!!."

How do you go about selling them. I would love to let go of some of my lower tier tanks now that I am moving into the Rank V area.

if you have time, warbonds, that is how I got my collection of odd bushes although these days I'm too lazy to put them on anything.

when the bush first came out they were on sale, the 6 set was 500ge i think, I remember thinking I'll get them next time and they were removed.

I refuse to pay for them so that is what got me doing war bonds, I have been hooked on free rubbish ever since and the only reason I still play the game I think.

have fun.

False. Foliage is available in the Warbonds shop. That's where I've got all mine, not cost a (real) penny

You can't sell any vehicles you already have, only coupon vehicles, which are given from events. You have a choice to either sell them or consume them, bounding them to your account forever. The current Battle Pass has two coupon vehicles in it.

Ya I really felt this when grinding for the centurion. You grind for a week and the tank never lives up to your expectations and you bleed your silver lions dry. I just changed my perspective, I just think, cool I can play this game for 5 more years and get a new tank every now and then. I play like 5 rounds of low br and then move to 7 and play a couple and with this system I am always earning silver lions. I am a very cheap person and have plenty of time to play because of no kids or wife. Compared to EA or Call of duty I think the snail is less evil. If you are an impatient and irrational you might pull out your wallet and buy something. I haven't spent a cent on this game and talk mad crap and they are still nice enough to let me play for free.

I can see where you're coming from OP, but War Thunder is definitely not the bed you want to lay in with a "Greedy Company" argument.

Gaijin is many things, but I have never found them "greedy." I would say "Harshly Fair" from my perspective.

For example, a lot of folks lambaste Gaijin for charging $60.00 for one premium vehicle. Okay, that's fair, you can get a whole new game or several other games for that cost.

However, this is simply industry standard for simulator or simulator-like games. Go look at DCS. Technically, that game is free, but it locks all the interesting vehicles behind a paywall that ranges from $50.00 to $80.00 for a single vehicle module. And then you have to spend more money to get more stuff out of the $80.00 you already spent. Go look at X-Plane. You pay $60 for the game then you have literally thousands of dollars worth of content locked behind a paywall.

With War Thunder, you get a tremendous benefit of purchasing a Premium Vehicle in time savings to pick up new vehicles that are not behind a paywall and economy favorable grinding.

Gaijin's business model revolves around wanting you to invest in premium time and/or premium vehicles as it makes getting new stuff quicker and easier. You're not required to spend money on War Thunder to do so, but it does help out your personal progression goals while it funds Gaijin to keep developing War Thunder.

And as others have pointed out, if you're able to put in the time to grind, you can get anything in the game without spending money by investing your time into events to get event vehicles then sell them on the Market Place.

Is it easy? No, but absolutely free things are rarely handed out without merit let alone things given out without some sort of compensation.

1- How old are you?

2- Do you have someone who is putting a gun on your head to force you playing their game?

3- Do you have someone who is putting a gun on your head to force you buying things from their game?

4- Do you, IRL, work for free ?

Now, little kid, listen carefully : When a product is "free", you must learn that the real product is YOU.

Now, you will learn something else : what is the goal of a company ? Making money.
Because their employees will not work for free. As yourself : you will not work for free.
Because they & you will face also outcome of money (taxes, etc).

When you grow up a little, you will certainly learn that.
But first you will have to move outside the confortable house of your parents & have your own home that you will pay with your own job & not mum or daddy's credit card.

I will not say that you are wrong at 100% but welcome to the real world of capitalism.
Even in some things in the economic model bother me, there are so more "greedy" companies in the world.

you can't compare EA, trust me

this kind of hyperbole really does more to discredit you than say anything about gaijin, they dont stand out particularly on the scale of companies making free to play games and actually do a surprising amount to level the playing field for non paying players compared to the vast majority of the industry. All i can take from this is you are unfamiliar with free to play games in general, are not well versed in online culture, and have not put an a minute of actual research into your claims (there are easily found cases of companies being prosecuted for their predatory behaviour...) but dont let easily researched precedents get in the way of your hateboner, it is after all the popular edgy thing to do nowadays

He's probably old enough, when he's able to spend 500 bucks in that game. And he's still right.

F2P games are always in the danger of P2W, doesn't matter how hard some people defend their holy grail.

Unless it's just cosmetics, that doesn't give you an advantage (bushes on your tank do give you an advantage), nobody would really care. But this game is selling actual tanks. And some are real cancer to play against.

The game should've cost the obligatory 60$ and then call it a day. I take this always over F2P with a (hidden) P2W.
