i was shocked to find that changed every year and what you buy becomes worthless.
as for free, they give you events and vehicles,
they have given you a market to sell them,
they put premium time and vehicles on sale that you can buy with said game money from selling event vehicles.
there is nothing you can not get free in this game.
and yet here you are crying.
you spent your money because you wanted it to be easy and found that it was not.
people buy premium vehicles thinking they are buying pay to win,
there is only one in game and that has been nerfed but it is still a pain.
It is more of a problem today because it has already driven away people from top br.
ka50.
so no, I don't think they are the worst, not even close.
I was floored when I saw that my next level of american vehicles where in the 200.000 range just to research. You spend all that time doing research to get a vehicle then then want another 25% to 40% to put a crew in it.
And you can't just take one of your older crews..NO they make sure you spend the same amount to "retrain" (I love that term) one of your existing crews as you would to purchase a new crew.
Having said that I don't think I would spend $500 on this game.
I've been playing it now for a couple of years and I've probably only spent not even $100 on it. I like to economy buy.
First I wait for sales. I like the reduced research requirements they had a few months back that allowed me to get quite a few more vehicles. But mostly I will just buy Gold eagles for $25 at a shot. You can get I think 5,000 GE for that. And for me it goes a long way to doing a few things.
THE ONE THING THAT TOTALLY SUCKS.... is that you can't get any concealment camo for your vehicles without dishing out the money. $500 GE a frigg'in bush. Are they kidding!!
I see guys driving around with tanks totally covered and think..."My god did they really spend that much money just to cover up a tank in a game!!!."
How do you go about selling them. I would love to let go of some of my lower tier tanks now that I am moving into the Rank V area.
actually you can't get concealment camo for your tanks for free.
They give you one piece grattus but that's it.
if you have time, warbonds, that is how I got my collection of odd bushes although these days I'm too lazy to put them on anything.
when the bush first came out they were on sale, the 6 set was 500ge i think, I remember thinking I'll get them next time and they were removed.
I refuse to pay for them so that is what got me doing war bonds, I have been hooked on free rubbish ever since and the only reason I still play the game I think.
have fun.
False. Foliage is available in the Warbonds shop. That's where I've got all mine, not cost a (real) penny
Gaijin is many things, but I have never found them "greedy." I would say "Harshly Fair" from my perspective.
For example, a lot of folks lambaste Gaijin for charging $60.00 for one premium vehicle. Okay, that's fair, you can get a whole new game or several other games for that cost.
However, this is simply industry standard for simulator or simulator-like games. Go look at DCS. Technically, that game is free, but it locks all the interesting vehicles behind a paywall that ranges from $50.00 to $80.00 for a single vehicle module. And then you have to spend more money to get more stuff out of the $80.00 you already spent. Go look at X-Plane. You pay $60 for the game then you have literally thousands of dollars worth of content locked behind a paywall.
With War Thunder, you get a tremendous benefit of purchasing a Premium Vehicle in time savings to pick up new vehicles that are not behind a paywall and economy favorable grinding.
Gaijin's business model revolves around wanting you to invest in premium time and/or premium vehicles as it makes getting new stuff quicker and easier. You're not required to spend money on War Thunder to do so, but it does help out your personal progression goals while it funds Gaijin to keep developing War Thunder.
And as others have pointed out, if you're able to put in the time to grind, you can get anything in the game without spending money by investing your time into events to get event vehicles then sell them on the Market Place.
Is it easy? No, but absolutely free things are rarely handed out without merit let alone things given out without some sort of compensation.
Have you heard of Star Citizen? It is not even a game yet and they sell digital space ships for thousands of dollars.
1- How old are you?
2- Do you have someone who is putting a gun on your head to force you playing their game?
3- Do you have someone who is putting a gun on your head to force you buying things from their game?
4- Do you, IRL, work for free ?
Now, little kid, listen carefully : When a product is "free", you must learn that the real product is YOU.
Now, you will learn something else : what is the goal of a company ? Making money.
Because their employees will not work for free. As yourself : you will not work for free.
Because they & you will face also outcome of money (taxes, etc).
When you grow up a little, you will certainly learn that.
But first you will have to move outside the confortable house of your parents & have your own home that you will pay with your own job & not mum or daddy's credit card.
I will not say that you are wrong at 100% but welcome to the real world of capitalism.
Even in some things in the economic model bother me, there are so more "greedy" companies in the world.
100% agree
He's probably old enough, when he's able to spend 500 bucks in that game. And he's still right.
F2P games are always in the danger of P2W, doesn't matter how hard some people defend their holy grail.
Unless it's just cosmetics, that doesn't give you an advantage (bushes on your tank do give you an advantage), nobody would really care. But this game is selling actual tanks. And some are real cancer to play against.
The game should've cost the obligatory 60$ and then call it a day. I take this always over F2P with a (hidden) P2W.
