War Thunder Launcher:
Bodies adhere to ragdoll physics and stuff. No blood or gore. Perhaps like Heroes and Generals or something.
If we’re talking about player on player combat, I don’t think bodies should despawn, as they do effect combat (cover and such) (yes I know dead tanks despawn — I am against that).
No terrifying screaming. Flamethrowers and stuff do not burn bodies (they just fall). No foul language. No bodies flailing on the ground like they’re dying but not dead. None of this. Player gets shot, no blood or anything, no graphic details or sounds, they just fall and such.
War Thunder (NSFW) Launcher:
Runs same game, but changes client side.
Graphic deaths, discombobulation, blood.
Screaming, typical death sounds and animation, sometimes bodies act like they’re dying but not dead for realism.
Etc.
It's called Enlisted.
This may be because of the rating system for age.
Having your crew "knocked out" is different from a body flying through the air from a satchel charge in the eyes of ratings boards such as the ESRB and PEGI.
I have a memory of killing a GI on RS2VN and hearing them cough up the words "I need a medic" whilst slowly dying was probably the most horrifying aspect. It's fairly vital in sending a message that this was a real situation.
I'd quite like to see a feature where is changes the client details so that it only enables censored via age.
Another matter: chemicals. This would open up the table for other types of shells - most importantly WP and gas shells. Of course this would increase the age rating, but in either case it is still worthy of note.
It'd give more use for bringing a fast firing SPAA as well as standard tanks.
The question I pose is how many kills/incapacitations to get back into a standard tank? I'd guess 1-2 fireteams/1 squad?
Part of the discussion at hand.
War Thunder is rated T, or 12+.
Reference: Heroes and Generals is 13+, a 1 year difference.
Adding infantry without gore or blood (actually I think H&G has a small amount of blood, so perhaps no blood could lower this to ~12+) is about the same rating as the current game.
You do not need brutal discombobulation to make an Infantry game.
An option to get more realistic gameplay could be a completely separate from game, as to uneffect the rating, an NSFW launcher that is M/18+ that is for those who want more realism.
