Open Petition to allow console players full access to the same marketplace and squadrons as PC players when we link accounts on PC
I play War Thunder on Xbox One. I have been playing this game for the past two months and have fell in love with it. I's got amazing graphics, amazing vehicles, and a big emphasis on team play. Recently, I found out that I could bind my account to the PC version of the game, and be able to transfer all my progress onto the PC version. This made me excited and hopeful that if I ever did decide to make the jump console to play on PC, I could avoid having to grind hours upon hours or spend money on golden eagles on a new account to get to the same ranks or BR as I was on console.

What I was disappointed about, however, was that if I linked my xbox account, I wouldn't have access to a player driven marketplace to buy extra skins for some vehicles or to sell unwanted items that I have no need for. Another disheartening realization is that one could not join squadrons either, leaving some vehicles completely inaccessible to use if you are not on PC from the start. This unfortunately does not feel fair for the console players like myself, who wish to enjoy the game as it was meant to be on PC. It can also be looked at as even more unfair to somebody who is on console since War Thunder allows one to crossplay with players on the PC version (even though it's an opt in/out), with console players at a disadvantage since PC players using said squadron vehicles could be viewed as "OP" or "Pay to Win" against console players.

One could say that Gaijin could open up a "console only" marketplace or squadron area, but I have to say that wouldn't be a smart idea. For one, look at what happened with Crossout. The player controlled parts marketplace on Xbox is a complete mess, with people asking obscene amounts of in-game currency for even the most common part due to the very limited player base. If you want to see a broken player economy, take a look at the Crossout marketplace on any of the console ports of Crossout. It makes Crossout on console feel as if it is a "Pay-To-Win" game that has no benefit from grinding whatsoever, whereas from what I've seen and heard, that's not the case for the PC version of the game. I don't want to see War Thunder suffer the same fate on Xbox or Playstation.

My other argument is that we already have crossplay for War Thunder on Console. There shouldn't be any reason why we can have full access of our account on both the console version and the original PC version. Everything is there, the metaphorical "switch" just needs to be turned on. Epic was eventually able to allow full crossplay compatibility with other consoles with their game Fortnite, and even gave players the ability to play with one's account even if they logged in on PC if they registered on console. I don't see how War Thunder can be any different. We already have crossplay with other consoles and PC, why only allow console players half the game?

I am aware that some of the issue stems from how Sony and Microsoft are not allowing it because they supposedly would want some of the profits from Gaijin. To that, I will bring up the Fortnite example again. There were many players of that game that pressured both companies to allow full crossplay for that game, and after a few years both companies finally relented and said sure.

That's where this petition comes in. I would like to start a formal petition to allow us, the console gamers of War Thunder, to be able to experience the full War Thunder experience as it is felt on PC. We want to have the same "Full Access" to our accounts, whether we log on our consoles or PC, as somebody who has the PC version of War Thunder. We, as players, need to step up and help Gaijin to get this to be one of the first fully crossplay, play anywhere, war simulators. We need to band together and convince Sony and Microsoft to play nice with Gaijin.

Please note, that I'm not trying to start up a "PC is better than console" or "I don't want console peasants in my Sim Battles", ect. arguments. I simply would like to enjoy the game as much on console as I would if I played on PC. I would also like to know that all my grinding on the console version of the game wouldn't be for nothing if I decide to make the jump from console to PC, and that I could transfer all my progress with me. Also, not all console gamers are incompetent. There are some, such as myself, who wish to play with other civilized players as well.

Please help me make this a reality. Thank you all who decide to support this endeavor.
