+Bonus that there is no actual story why random tanks are seeing eachover (Tiger II seeing Centurion), and that the most likely reason is either A) it's post-apocalyptic or B) cheap PMC's are fighting over pointless objectives. In either case, it'd likely be later 20th - 21st century.

Immersion differs for each person. I'd only get immersed if it looked better, and didn't have so many glaring issues.
I think this accurately sums up the deal. If you have such a issue, just disable it.
