Someone please give me some direction/help. Have been playing War Thunder for about 2 months. Have spent a lot of time getting my countrys levels up. Went to launch the game today (from a desktop short cut) and steam goes to a install page... look at my games in steam and War Thunder is GONE. Someone please help.....

ok heres an update. War Thunder is on my second hard drive in my computer along with saints row 4, batman, payday 2 and others. I can launch game from the main launcher located in the steam folder. all the other games on this second hard drive show up in steam, as WT always has...But WT is not in the my games list and all the other games from this hard drive still show up in my games like normal.... I am confused lol

well about that.... i hit install and it went to do the 6.8Gigs.... I then relized it was one of the games on the second drive. So, now I have a paused DL that im not sure if i tell it to delete local and stop the DL if it will delete the game that is installed instead of deleting the 30mb that i let it do before i relized what was happening lol.... least its there and i can play LOL

could just add the drive to the library...if you havent already
on steam itself
steam/settings/downloads
there you can 'manage steam folders'
add your Hdrive and done

try verifying the game cache
right click WT in your library
navigate to local files and it should be the final option

you could also just play from the WT folder itself
w/o steam

I have exactly the same problem. First time I copied the game from the stand-alone version and updated something like 700-800Mb. Game played perfectly fine for a period of time (weeks). Then, one day without doing anything game disappeared from STEAM list of game (no history, nothing). When I clicked the game icon I was prompted to install it. Game existed in the common folder of STEAM apps.
You can not verify etc the local files because the game does not appear in the list of STEAM games.

I found no solution, so downloaded and installed the game again from scratch. Everything seemed to work fine for weeks. Then today, the game has again disappeared completely from the list of game, from the history etc.
The game is still in the common folder and when I click the "launcher.exe", the game starts without any problem. But shows that I am not connected to STEAM etc. It is as if I play the stand-alone version.

if I open a topic in the official forum (steam related problems) can you also add your own experience? If we are more than one, they should pay more attention as most probably the problem is not PC specific. I had opened a topic when the problem appeared in the first instance but nobody else had complained on the same.

While you wait to download it again or whatever you plan to do, remember you can still start the game by clicking the "launcher.exe" file in the directory of War Thunder in the common folder.

yeah have been super busy at work so have not really messed with it at all. Just made a shortcut on desktop directly to the launcher and have been using it that way. Good (well not good but...relieved??) to hear i am not the only one this has happened too....
and yes i will add what happened to me in your topic. just send me a link to it.

free games is just free ....just redownload from the steam store and click and click on free play...and click on all free games...JUST REDOWNLOAD....

well not everyone has the luxury of fast network to re-download the game. Additionally, why to do this since the game exists in the hard-disk folder?

Most probably there is a small bug being triggered and the game loses connection to the STEAM library.

I have opened a ticket in Gaijin support. They answered promptly and they are investigating the issue. In the message I have included the link for this steam forum topic.
