Ping actually shows at the bottom left of your screen when in a game. You will see ping next to "packet loss" followed by "reliability."
Fps (frames per second) is shown at the top left in game.
For me fps varies between 50 and 120 during a game. Ping is around 80 to 100 when I am on the US servers (I'm in the US) but drops to between 180 to 220ms when I have "any" server sellected, which is most of the time.
Before entering any battle you can run your mouse cursor over the word BATTLE to get the main dialog box to appear. Just above the BATTLE button you will see Current Server. Chances are it says ANY to the right. You can click on that and change the server you want to use, US (United States), RU (Russia), EU (Europe) or ANY. I use ANY most of the time, even though I get better ping times from the US server because games seem to start quicker. And I kind of hate waiting.
