I don't have a joystick currently, and the xbox control works quite well for the space flight sim I play. The flight/axis principles are the same here, I don't see why it should be any different.
I use it for a regular flight sim too, works quite well. Besides, Im not commenting on whether or not its the best thing to use...Im saying I cant get it to work even barely :( Im not sure what the issue is. Going through the manual configuration it seems to be reading the axis neutral/max points incorrectly, which may be why it is so overly senstive. But I cant tell for certain. Keep having to go through the tutorial to test it.
thank you for your reply. It is one of the official/genuine microsoft controls. After trying the manual config numerous times without much success I decided to choose the 'clear all' controls option and I picked realistic controls and reset to xbox control/mouse and it now seems to detect the axis properly. I will try to see if I can adjust the settings now and make it work :)
I prefer mouse + keyboard but as I have cubital tunnel I cant rest my arms on a desk or use a mouse for more than an hour now so I have to use use controllers to balance out the time. The rigors of 30 years of M+KB gaming cought up to me.
