Update Issues

First off, I have never seen such a needy game for updates. Sometimes it can be daily for over a week straight! Most go very quickly and without a hitch, and then one big update will come along and poof, just like that the infinite validation loop begins. Today's update is an example of this annoying event.

The validation gets to the high nineties and then restarts, rinse and repeat to infinity. One time I left it overnight and it was still doing it the next day. I don't know what causes this but it has happened to me multiple times in the recent past (at least three, maybe four times this year already).

I have read and tried numerous "fixes" that all seem to do nothing. The only solution is to uninstall and re-install the game, which for me works every time. Clearing the download cache does zero help btw.

I'm posting this to showcase how much time and bandwith is wasted on this process every time this happens. At 60Gb per download, this is more than a minor disruption since the downloads are so slow since every other player is likely trying to do the same thing no doubt. Not to mention that this type of "fix" is just plain ridiculous to have to do to resolve a game patch gone wrong.

I would welcome an explanation from the Devs on why this is even a thing. I won't bother mentioning how fed up I am, I think it's redundant at this point.

The updates aren't 60gig each. You're either reading it incorrectly, or doing something to your files that it needs to correct them every time

ok...so you read my post supremely fast, and got it wrong. It is a 60Gb download to re-install the game....not the update.

Correct, I did read that fast/out of context. But the point remains, it's something on your end if you're needing to redownload the game constantly. If it were a widespread issue, it would be all over the forum

I'm not even going to quote you. I just love people like you that instantly assume people are stupid and obviously at fault because we must have upset you cause you love the game so much it couldn't possibly be a technical issue. Thanks for your post, carry on.

This sounds like a Your end issue, Updates have been fast and non issue for my system. Haven't had a issue with validation loops as you said u have. Might be a issue with the install location?

Had the same problem. Even worse, the launcher decided to change from full client to the minimum one. Stend the night trying to solve the problem, download keep getting stuck in 96% and finally I just uninstalled the game and downloaded again. It took ages for no reason. Then the launcher downloaded the game again (?) ugh.

I could not finish the last "mark of distinction" from the event just for this bs. So no tank for me, and I'm not going to spend money for it.
