and since tanks is not released on war thunder yet i can't really tell you about it
as for the planes they fly smoothly compared to when i last played wowp and the graphics here don't look like cheap cartoons
Instead of leveling up a line of planes like you would in tanks or warplanes, you level up ranks in a nation and each plane has a rank. If you gain the rank in a nation then you can fly any plane of that rank or lower. There is no need to play one line at a time. You can quene up with mutiple planes in a battle in Arcade mode so once you die you can just pick another plane and go back to battle. Maps are much larger in this game making it easier for you to pick your targets and not get in huge dogfights. Games also generally take longer to complete as well.
they are also easy to kill but i don't like the instant fire surpression they have lol
I can tell you how it's different from WoT.
First, in WoT, you must get exp for individual tanks and upgrade them before you can move on to the next tier. In WT, you simply get exp with whatever nation you're flying with, and rank up that way. There are still upgrades, and after about rank 10 or so, upgrading planes is a huge grind. It's made worse by the fact that unlocking an upgrade for one plane does not unlock it for any others, even if it appears to be the same thing. Both games have their issues here, but I'd say WT is at least somewhat better, because you can at least rush through the tiers to get to the planes you really want, and forget about upgrading the ones you don't.
Second, while WT has the same matchmaker issues WoT does, the impact is not as severe. You still will find yourself in battles against planes two tiers (or 3 ranks) higher than yours; the difference is that you actually have a 1 vs 1 chance to kill someone two tiers higher. This, of course, is due to the fact that shots do not get bounced in WT as in WoT. Yes, it doesn't happen often (1 vs 1) unless there is a fairly significant skill difference between pilots, but at least the possibility is there. The biggest way this difference shows up however, is in the heat of battle (ie. Arcade Mode). In Arcade, it's not all that rare for a plane to be killed by a plane 2 tiers lower, because things can get crazy, and all planes are fragile to an extent. The chief advantages better planes have include better climb rates, better maneuverability, and better speed.
Third, WT does not have premium consumables to give unfair advantages to real-money players. This is the one area Gaijin wins solidly over Wargaming.net. There is no comparison here.
And, of course, WoT is tanks, and WT so far is planes. Other than that, the games are eerily (and sometimes frustratingly) similar.
I just played WoT again for the first time in about ten months, and all the reasons I quit playing were quickly slammed home again. I haven't uninstalled it again just yet, but I probably will. First match: Sherman M4 (tier 5). Yep, bottom tier, going against mostly 6's and a few 7's. I manage to get one shot off (bounced) on a tier 6 before I lose my tank. After repairs, my profit is 1,250 credits; not even half the cost of a single premium shell - which if I'd had equipped, may have actually done some damage. (And never mind the 11,000 credits-worth of other consumables I could have purchased and used, if I'd spent money on gold and bought them that way instead.) And that, in a nutshell, is just about everything that's wrong with WoT and different in WT.
I also forgot, WT has no limit on how many different planes you can own. You start with 3 slots per nation, but that's just the number of planes you can have ready for Arcade. If you only ever fly Historical or Full real, you never need another slot. But even if you fly only Arcade, you can easily get 5 slots per nation for in-game money only, and you'll rarely run out of planes in Arcade if you have 5.
A couple more ways WT is far and away better than WoT.
i ggot 1MIL exp to upgrade to any nation. for 5K golden eagles so 20 euros for me isnt alot for a year playing....
Thats all I can compare from the two games. Warthunder is pretty cool in the begining but high tiers is a joke when it comes to queue times, repair costs, and some nation balance. You will be spending a lot more time waiting or alt tabbed than playing at those tiers (Can be up to 10-30 minutes sometimes to play one round)
