How would you know if those ppl made a honoust review ?
Imo your just assuming something that alligns with your opinion.
If your main reason for playing is to unlock the modern era, it probably won't be as much fun.
For me, when I start reaching BR 7.0 , I get the urge to start over in another tree, or stick my toe in the water with naval or drive around cluelessly in ground low-tiers.
New player for warframe is super weird, they have a really strong opening and if you aren't used to playing movement shooters it can be an incredibly novel first time experience for you but once the opening starts to let you take the wheel there is a good chance new players will crash and burn. I for example, loved playing warframe and had friends who enjoyed it and would play with me, usually using me as the team agro because I was way lower level than them but was really good with the movement system so I could zip around making the enemies mad while they killed everything. But at the same time the game broke pretty early on, the build-a-pet quest completely stopped all progress in that game as it soft-locked and I needed to start a new playthrough if I wanted to fix it, thankfully war thunder doesn't work like that so while new players might have a really ♥♥♥♥ time starting out, it is consistent and constant and therefore easier to wade through if you are determined to get something, whether it be a Tiger, SU-27, an abrams or whatever else you might like.
Even with the flaws in the game that can create major hitches for a new player though, I would say Warframe is a far better designed and maintained game than Warthunder and one day I'll start a new character and grind out Octavia (I had no objective going in besides playing with friends but a week in I became really interested in the music based warframe.)
It's painful and abusive and if you can't wrap your head around the reviews then you will be in for a shock if you actually decide to stick around and find out. The reviews are accurate, just weird if you are used to seeing people review games based on the main menu or tutorial section rather than the full game. There are people who do full game reviews out there on youtube, angry joe being one of the longest running channels to provide that content but even channels like that would struggle to justify spending 500+ hours just to reach the end game in war thunder. Thats also why they tend to do reviews of MMO's based on a pre-established time frame like "WoW after 100 hours" or "I spent 50 hours in Genshin Impact" because games like this take freaking ages to complete and give a final review.
I personally reached the end game a long time ago and just never bothered to pass or fail the game because it was somewhere in between, then gaijin did something dumb and the community slammed them for it with many like myself finally posting a review. Gaijin is very much a supporter of Stockholm syndrome and their whole game is built around torturing players with the hopes that the players will become invested in fighting or ideally PAYING their way to the top of the tech trees or to what ever vehicle(s) caught their eye initially. I have all but 2 vehicles I want now, I am only missing a Type 10 and a WZ1001 and I am over half way to both but not really putting any effort into progressing to them anymore. So I am just causally hopping on, killing maybe 2 dozen players with whatever vehicle I feel like and then hopping off, I'm not super invested anymore but I still stand by my review, warthunder is an abusive game and new players who want to drive an abrams SEP V# should just join the US military, you'll be inside of one in about the same amount of time and get paid for it (not paid a lot but it's better than nothing).
You have a ton of vehicles to choose, with great model, from early WWII to modern vehicles, on maps and game modes that are over a decade old and not updated to handle the later
So yeah, feel free to start playing. I'd assume issues increase with higher BRs/ranks, so you'll have fun in the beginning and get addicted. And then comes the crap.
And what do you find illogical about that? Yes, I agree that some players overestimate their emotions in the sense that the whole game is garbage, etc. which it certainly isn't. But it's quite logical that the more hours you have in the game, the more and more you notice things that you didn't notice before, because you didn't understand them, you didn't have experience with them, you didn't understand the mechanics and basically they didn't bother you because you were grinding hard. A player who has a lot of hours, has already researched a lot of nations, or is in the end game already notices different things than a beginner or a slightly advanced player. He understands the game mechanics, sees their potential, he simply has more experience, therefore he also sees more and more mistakes in the game, pointless decisions, or bad direction of the game compared to novices or average players. The fact that a player has spent so many hours in a game doesn't mean that the game doesn't have its flaws that he didn't notice before, negatives, or that it can't get worse, don't you think? If you spend 1+ hours with a person, you really get to know them, does that mean that person can't be bad anymore, you can't not recommend them because you've spent so many hours with them, so they can't be bad? :))) Or, in other words, if you've driven your car for 2-3 years, found out how it actually drives, how it behaves in various situations where it has its weak points, how often it breaks down, then the vehicle can't be bad anymore and you can't not recommend it because you've driven it for so long? What seems illogical to you about that? :)
Its good and bad. Its good enough to keep me coming back, but bad enough to let me complain endlessly. Warthunder is all about what you want out of it in regards to what you are willing to put into it. Time or money, the snail will require lots of either or quite a bit of both.
It is not a game you can just pick up and do well on, there is a steeeeeep learning curve and none of the information you are going to need will be found in the game itself, there is dozens of secrets and lies you need to learn about, UI is not intuitive and its very unforgiving to new players all around, beyond that the grind to unlock vehicles is LONG and there are a LOT of vehicles in the game now, beyond that there is a ton of content you will be locked out of effectively forever (unless you want to spend a fortune) in the form of past event vehicles.
It takes a long time to learn how to fly and fight in planes, learn the maps in ground RB and the mechanics of angling, overmatching, richocheting, the ins and outs of hill and corner peaking, naval and naval gunnery tactics etc etc. There is just so much to the game it take a LONG time to understand it all and even longer to become proficient in all of them and lets not even talk about the 3 levels of realism present in arcade, realistic, and simulator battles.
Warthunder is a decade long commitment to casually or zealously grind and grind.
I've been playing since mid 2013 and I couldn't agree more.
I still play this game on and off.
But the game has been going downhill for several years.
There's been zero innovations in soooooo long. (I guess naval if you're into that)
No new game modes, no new community games/Events, hardly anything.
I remember all of the fun events they used to have like plane races and stuff.
Or the fact they were rolling out Enduring confrontations for RB... let alone world war.
Their main goal has shifted to add as many planes and tanks as possible to get people to buy premium vehicles to grind through egregious tech trees.
With that, there's no incentives to innovate which truly is a shame
I mostly play Air Arcade, dip into Air RB here and there and more rarely play tanks or naval. I love tanks IRL but tier 3 and up the ground game becomes tedious. Air is not quite as bad but now that I'm playing higher tiers more than lower its getting annoying at times.
Overall I'd recommend it but say to just enjoy lower tiers and not worry about trying to speed (or buy) your way to high tiers.
There are many other reasons not to play this .. but give it a try you will find out soon enough how broken it is.
Tho i would STRONGLY recommend to not spend money on the game until you are sure you like it or not.
