How do people climb so fast in their planes?
I'm playing various countries, generally BR 1.7-3.7. It feels like every time I'm in a dogfight, the other guy can just point straight up, fly about 1000m without stalling, then just dive and rip my wings off, while I can only go up a few hundred metres before stalling. It's mostly Hurricanes and Hellcats doing the crazy climbs, but I've had someone in the exact same plane as me do it too (before you ask, yes, mine was fully upgraded). Is there just some secret trick I'm just not privy to?

If they were outclimbing you in a dogfight, the answer is most likely this: they were moving faster than you. Generally, the way you counter this is by being fast yourself, which you get by diving or flying straight for a while. All maneuvering bleeds energy you will need to outmatch your opponent. If your opponent begins the fight way above you, or is clearly moving much faster than you, they will enter into that dogfight with an energy advantage, which means you will be on the defensive if they fly it smart. Your job in that case is to equalize the energy (by making them miss attack runs) before you try to match them in something like a stall, because if you don't, you will lose unless you pull off a miraculous stall shot from 1 km or something. Of course, planes being unequal, this assumes you can actually match your opposition in maneuverability. If that plane is a zero, good luck.
