Rank 1 games hell!

Started playing today and every single game until rank 1 i won and even got the achievement be 1st in 3 games in a row. Now all of a sudden its been straight losses for a couple hours in quite difficult games. Is this just the game at this point?

Hello your first few games like 5-10 is all bots. After that is all players.

There is no matchmaking in War Thunder.

When a high level squad decides they want to play WW2 Tanks, they will fight beginners too. So yes, that's going to be the game from now on, just that you get a larger quantity of experienced opponents and allies the higher you go (It's still pretty casual down there).

Honestly it sounds unlucky. Is it Arcade or Realistic mode? You would think you would get at least some wins in. As mentioned, lots of high tier players do play low tier (especially Realistic mode), but this should apply to both teams.

You were playing against easy bots OP. They just mindlessly drive around and don't really even shoot.

Oh yes there is the infernal and insane Gaijin matchmaking which means sometimes you will find yourself in an inferior team, some other times in a superior team, seldom anything else.

What else is there? Of course you're on the winning or losing team...

Mostly that one-sided games are the norm and balanced teams (where the win could go both ways) are not.

Ya, it's kinda too bad because i think the gameplay is very fun, but i get in matches and drive to a point just to get one shot by somoen OR shoot them 10-20 times with crits and them not die...

Thats part of learning the game mechanics.

Learn what type of ammo to use, and where to shoot others. Killing vehicles in 1 hit is possible with pretty well every vehicle.

Welcome to War Thunder. Your first matches are against AI bots. Then you start to play against real players.

There are currently objectives available for vehicles in low tier. This can add to players who are used to being high tier dropping down to achieve these objectives.

Thank you, this makes a lot more sense. Is there a mode to play vs bots only so i can practice?

yeah you can set up a custom battle for yourself to vs bots with bot team mates, you can find it under the battle selection menu top centre of the home screen.

This game has a steep learning curve. I quit the first time I played it was so frustrating. You'll probably have to spend some time watching videos on how good players play or simply spend hours learning on your own. No real way around it.
