How to Play With Friends (Just Got The Game For The First Time)

My friends and I just got this game but we are extremely confused on how to play together? Everytime we try to queue up we get the "Squad cannot play for this event" (something like that). Do we need to play solo for a bit or do we need to complete the tutorial in order to play with each other?

first game are against bots If I remember correctly.
so play few battles until every nickname is is john and peter
