SAV 20.12.48 broke rank III

So I'm playing with my friend who still at BR4.0 and it's full of these tanks. I've found more than 10 in a single match and they're incredibly unballanced. If Gaijin is expecting to new players to stay, this is literally a game killer. You can't leave the spawn without getting sniped by 20 SAVs hidding on a hill. This tank should be at least BR5.7 or so, they're too OP

There are a ton of them right now because Odd managed to convince everyone who is still around that owns one they should play it, they are dying in droves but the skilled players are obliterating enough of the enemy team that it evens out. It won't be like this for very long, it's basically just a mini event vehicle swarm but as always such things are super annoying to play through when you just want normal low tier matches, ran into a bunch of them myself while playing 3.7 Italy, killed all of them with my plane (fighter, no bombs) because everything else was KV's and shermans. Little annoying but it did help my Italian air tree grind so at least there is a small positive coming out of this.

Don't get me wrong, its pretty satisfying to hunt them with airborne 50mm HE rounds from my Me410, but regardless of the oversaturation of them right now, I still think the thing isn't at the right BR. I really think 4.7 would be a fine place for it. Usually you have more experienced players between 4.7 and 5.7 that'd be more equipped to handle it. Either way, 3.7 just shouldn't be its home BR.

Errr not quite

It's just recently been released for sale again for a Swedish national day or something, then came ANOTHER (3rd?) Oddbawz video and these things combined PLUS the most important change, it's movement from rank II to rank III last year has resulted in a mini flood and a quite crazy over reaction

Increase it's BR? yeah probably don't care as it wont make much difference. The root cause is the rank increase, drop it back down to rank II and nobody will care.

In 2022 no vid, still on open sale, still rank II

In Jan 2023 it had been removed from sale by this time, and was released for the Swedish day thing. No Odds vid, no major flood, tank was still rank II nobody cared

Now in 2024. Tank was moved up to rank III in mid 2023 but was not on sale, until now and then we get Odds calling no SHOUTING for THE EXACT SAME TANK to be nerfed when the only thing that has changed is the rank.

The lad is either wittingly or unwittingly just working to generate sales for Gaijin, either way that's fine for me I'll not judge.

But the point that some are missing is clear. OP rank I or II prems do not generate massive reactions (or massive sales) because for most players there is very little utility worth gaining from these ranks. Get to rank III and that changes.

Dropping the tank back to rank II makes much more sense than some arbitrary BR change, as the tank will still function in pretty much the same way at any reasonable BR above it,

Uptiers are fine. Maybe not in the higher BRs, but in lower tiers its just fine. The Sherman is plenty capable of fighting KV-1s. When you do get into higher tiers where uptiers are more of an issue, you're facing far more problems than just uptiers, making them somewhat irrelevant.

The Sherman kv1 and t34 are already at the same BR, I think jagdtiger was talking about the stuff below them in BR that get slaughtered because new players struggle to deal with these vehicles initially, the only saving grace is that a lot of the people driving the early Shermans and KV's are also new so if you have a two on one or can catch them in a bad spot the new player won't know what to do to save themselves.

Yeah, I mean, I don't think it's a problem to begin with, regardless of premium or no. But it's still in Rank III.
