Take off and landing tutorial?
I play the normal game with a mouse and keyboard controls, yet when I try to enter an event, I'm stuck with a take off tutorial first. Tried to do this many times and have managed to get off the ground but my plane seems to just turn sideways after take off with no more instructions and I crash no matter what I do. I love the idea of one plane and your out for events, but this tutorial rubbish can kiss my shiny metal butt.

which event are u trying to do, the HB mode? or the FRB mode?
To land, drop flaps, drop gear, go below 280kmh, lightly touch the runway, brakes, when you get to around 120kmh release brakes and press "PAGE UP", re apply brakes.
to take off: go fast.

When I try to play one of the historic battle events it takes me to the above mentioned tutorial. I press I to start the engines then increase throttle to 100%, toggle Q and E to keep on the runway and then press page down to to lift the nose up. The problem is when I actually take off, the plane tilts 90 degrees and crashes into the ground. Think I'd better stick with arcade mode to avoid throwing my keyboard across the room :).

Thanks for the replies though.

if your plane starts to turn on take off just use the ailerons to correct it
should be the A and D keys
mouse joy can be used in FRB.

Thanks all, I'll superglue my keyboard to the desk and give it a try.
Try this first: remap the keyboard so the nose up (for example) is no longer "page up" and other generally stupid key setups. It gets easier with practice, so run a few "training flights" with full controlls to get used to it. The test flight plane has alot of torque and p-effect (propwash and slipstream) so you may want to try with a twin engine like the Me-410 a few times first, or a carrier plane like the SBD-3 Dauntless.
