I think I'll try how it fares with ground attack ammo soon.
those 37mm can shred a tank from the rear and top. Frontal will take time, especially heavy tanks.
If they dont, then the devs have some splaining to do.
Bomb some tanks then. It is a dive bomber after all :)
only twin 37mm cannons
i suggest [AB] climbing high avoiding everything and go bomber hunting for a a few kills
after so dive in on unsuspecting players.
the ju87 in AB has ridiculous elevator control added that you have speed (say 300+ kp/h)
if you miss your first burst, just perform a loop with the elevators and you can out turn many planes (note that you need speed so really you can do this 2-3 times till you're in trouble)
learn those german 37mm cannons too (its muzzle velocity and ballistic drop)
once you're comfy you can easily take out any craft from distances of 50m to 800m
I figured all variants of the Stuka had payloads. Guess I was wrong.
yeah, the G series is labelled as "attacker" i believe
So i climbed mainly and hunted bombers, or went for light tanks. I recommend setting gun convergence to 700 or something more distant (not like 300 i use for any other plane) so you still have time to pull up if you shoot tanks (else you wont hit them if you dont shoot at convergence range) and you have a easier time shooting bombers since you are farther away from their guns :)
yeah i found it to be great for killing bombers. If you hit one your almost always going to crit it.
In the games current state I find the Stukas to be odd ducks. But I have a feeling that they'll come into their own when the teiring gets restructured and ground forces comes out. The precision dive bombing might be verrrry handy when attacking guys driving tanks around.
With the G2 you have to be like a MLG leet skill sniper to hit fighter, but same goes for other planes like the Yak 8K or the ♥♥♥ heavy fighters. The firing speed is to low to "zero" in while firinc, you basically have to hit when you fire.
I myself only used it for the 10 free repairs and then ditched it.
