Why no Marder 2?

So basicly, I'm kinda asking myself why th we don't have the Marder 2.

It fits all of the criteria Gaijins gave:
2 Prototypes built and tested, fitted with guns and proposed to the army. (in the end it wasn't chosen since it was considered too expensive at that time and too heavy. the irony)

Since the PUMA was shoved up to 10.0 (and might even go higher when fitted with the Spike-missiles) the germans are kinda lacking an IFV that can do the job of the PUMA.
The Bagle-Panzer is *great* don't get me wrong, but it's more or less ideal for situations where you get the drop on your target.
Not so much when it shoots back with anything bigger than a 7,92 MG.

The last Marder is at 8.0 and the Bagle comes in at 9.3, regularly facing 2S38
and the BMP-2M which are superior in single engagements and controlling larger amounts of enemies at once.
So not only is there a huge gap between these two vehicles, but the Bagle is just not up to the task compared to its competition. (yes im aware that we got a bull load of light tanks in that branch)

9.3 Germany is thanks to the T-72 M1 way more potent then it used to be, but the big hole that the PUMA left is not really filled by any vehicle.

Personally I consider the Marder 2 to be the perfect vehicle for the job:
-well armed
-fast
-well armored
and can act as a close quarter support vehicle. Something the Bagle is not overly able to do.

Marder 2 will be an Event thing at some day probably.I want the Giraffe or the VT (not the 1-2) with the additional armor plate on Front.

thats what Im fearing aswell... I absolutely despise these events. If you wanna make it a premium and charge people 30 bucks for it, fine.

But forcing people to spend weeks on end grinding for 1 vehicle is absolutely insane.
