I got the 279, but its super super inconsistent. It is a really nice and good tank in terms of mobility armor and pen, but depending on if ur uptiered (which is alot) or down tiered it can be yin and yang, At uptier it basically gets one shot and you get a few kills if ur lucky, but when downtiered it eats basically every round for breakfast and one shots any tank unlucky enough to get grazed by the 130mm. ive gotten downtiered quite a few times and the tank is fun as hell.
Not worth 400$, But it is a really fun tank.

Yeah but it sure does scare the hell out of people and the armor on it can troll CAS and MBT players equally well.

Yes, got one but I play mostly arcade so my experience is different compare to everyone here since nobody play arcade I heard and I was playing with computer bots all the time, to explain it, downtier you get to drop nuke, uptiers you sometimes gets send back to the hangar faster than the M22 at 9.3, just like what the guy says above, inconsistent is the word, you will have matches where you bounce all the darts from 9.3/9.7 tanks, other time everything pens you and give you a brain aneurysm trying to figure out how it pens you, angling sometimes make it worse, it's a weird round boi that seemingly immuned to CAS bombs because after like respawns for 200 times I have get bombed probably 100 times over but never die from it, including multiple 1000lbs bombs sitting 5m and one embed on top of the turret, turret destroyed, tracks destroyed, that's it.

I killed a 279 with the HE round of my 20 mm Rh202 (marder/weisel/Leo2k autocannon) through the tip of the front of the hull. I was very smuggly confused after that kill. (killed it with the Leo2k so they uptiered to fight me and I lost out on getting a rank matters award.)

Sounds good to me, well, you enjoy arcade, stay there. Anyway, from what you told me, you seem to do consistently well in most battles anyway, the Object 279 should be a godsend for you, haha. I think you know how to manage uptiers and downtiers.

The 279 used to have really trolly armor. I don't think its BR has changed, if at least by very much, but it used to have really broken armor layout. Now though, they've mostly fixed it. Not uncommon for me to get penned easy from my front hull or turret, at least by APFSDS.

I wonder if they changed the fire system though. You could get shot in the fuel tanks and not have to put it out since it was disconnected from the rest of the vehicle.

You still dont need to put the fire of fuel tank out. It's BR did go from 8.3 to 8.7 and it's armor is currently worthless

It's a good heavy tank that doesn't get clubbed even in a full uptier, it's better if there is a lot of downtiers, stats is alright as I am sitting at 650 kills with 150 death, but most owners that play arcade have a 8:1 KDR so I think I am average at best when playing against non-rb human bots, I can bump it up to 7:1 by bringing it out only in a downtier.
