Toxic people get in there and they make trouble for the ones that are just trying to work together with the people who are development. And it compiles to people who going in and making trouble with countries that are in trouble. So generally it's just because of toxic people.

They locked them shortly after a certain war broke out and people flooded the comments with "Slava Ukraini" , "Russian propaganda slaves" ect. It was easier to just completely delete or block normal threads that popped up in the forum and keep the politics away from those than keep and eye on comments in official posts 24/7.

Oh and small fun fact: B4 they locked all the update posts comments they already locked any update celebrating anything Chinese related that wasn't lunar new year
