Helicopter vs. Helicopter tips?

I was wondering if anyone had any tips or could point me to a guide on helo vs. helo combat. As far as I've researched, it doesn't seem to be something that's ever really happened in real life, but I run into it enough in War Thunder that I see the need to git gudder.

Kinda difficult to tell you if we don't know what you play and what you are facing.

For early, a lot of them are either piss heavy or have no offensive armarment to begin with, so knowing what you face and whatyou should engage is crucial. The AH-1G is probably the best low tier heli for heli vs heli engagements as you are armored, pretty nimble and have a gun turret. Although stuff like the Mi-4AV and Mi-24A might take rocket pots alongside their normal AGM to spray them in a head on.

At higher brs it will get more difficult. A lot of helis will have MAW or IRCM to make the use of air to air missiles rather difficult, whereas AGMs will be abkle to lock onto your heli and guide the missile into you unless you block line of sight.

Oh and don't engage the Z-19E, that thing is notorious for camping heli pads with its air to air missiles.


That's as much as I know for now. So far I've only manged to get my ass to the Mi-35M and I don't own any fancy Ka-50 or premium Apache to give more insight

There isn't much to learn other then AGM guidance at lower tier.

In top tier it's just russians owning everyone els with their overpowered helicopters. MAW to ensure no one will ever get the drop on them and having significantly better missiles then everyone els. So even if you get the first strike, they just click to lock your helicopter and send it to kill you first. There is no dodging it either, as it's precise enough to hit jets and micro-drones.
