Nerf aim54 Phoenix ?
I watched already after the start of the event on Israel F-14 with aim 54 Phoenix missiles, the effectiveness started to decrease with each update, from 3-4 hits in the past, the effectiveness dropped to 1-2 hits, which is 50 percent less, on a sample of 100 games. Now I'm happy if the rockets hit at least one target, two targets are Christmas. I will not even write about the aim120 nerf and Fox 3 in general. I understand, the USA is only an average army in the world and its technology lags behind the whole world, especially Russia. :D At the same time, the mentioned rockets in reality achieve over 60-70 percent hit rate. What's the point of adding Fox 3 rockets if you then destroy their entire essence and make them short-range rockets after their nerfs because they hit almost nothing at long, mid? You better not have to add them and you should have left the top tier of planes as it was, it was much more fun. What do you want to do with this tactic later? Modern Stihacks are even more designed for long-range combat, will we have a dog fight with the F-35 like in the Spitfires?

It could be that people simply learned to fly diagonally. The AIM-54 is not a good missile to begin with.

Of course, this factor could have contributed to the destruction of efficiency, but not to such a significant extent. In addition, I often follow the enemies and they don't even use any maneuver, they fly directly to the rocket and the rocket simply doesn't hit them, we don't know why. This drop in efficiency is simply insane. I also use them later in the game and their effectiveness is just as low. And I'll just point out that I have flown a lot with the F-14, possibly for answers to the skill issue tip. I launch rockets at a distance of less than 33 km, at a height and speed of 1300-1500 km/h, so the reaction time is really low, but very often the rockets do not hit clear targets.

The phoenix is the type of missile where it sucks when you use it, but it’s better than AMRAAMS when you go against it. Mostly just annoying though, because you need to turn and chaff and turn BOOOORRRRRIIINNNGGGG.

It's better to fire AIM-54 from >4000m altitude to ensure TWS guidance and retain missile energy. You get about 40km effective range on low fliers and it get's better against high altitude opponents.

In late-game it becomes more ideal missile for shooting down enemy aircrafts taking off the runway as they are in slow state to outrun it.

Also heard the A variant requires TWS guidance until in range to become active. While C variant is capable of activating internal radar when TWS guidance is lost prematurely.

You should check the sensory filter on the replay to check what your missile sees and does.
