The hell happened with the f4s?

After a somewhat longer break i tried to play the f4s again. Noticed that its hmd is locked to 19kms rather than its normal radar ranges, wont allow me to use normal acm but rather hmd lock only and my pd locks lose tracking in head ons! The weapons are a mess too. The Aim7f will not track or even turn at all. Had a long range shot that went straight for over 10s with an active lock... The 9Hs feels very similar. And whats with the russian planes now? Mig 21s and 23s r60ms are notorious for having awful flare protection but now its like they dont react to them at all...

Seriously what happened? Are they bugged? Or was it just shadow nerfed to oblivion to incentivise buying the f20a even tho the f4s is already mediocre at best?

Saw this multiple times and do believe there is some connection between nerfs that come along with new vehicles.

Played this morning a number of rounds in US F16c, the aim7m missed a number of times in a good head on, and the aim 9m were not working at all, just played a match with the su27 and its r73s hit both head ons that I engaged, didnt try the r27 though. In the last round after i died i watched a guy in a f16 head on a mig 29, the f16 fired his aim 9m which just went strait up into space lol

AIM-9Ms are broken for me too,as for radar missiles maybe it has do with the new radar mechanic they introduced,sparrows are (at least for me) hitting the targets more frequently compared pre update.

Absolutely, this is their game-plan. Aim9m's were ghost nerfed. I also personally think the Aim7s on the F15 are even more unreliable than previously. So, purely my opinion both aim9m & aim7s were nerfed. Possibly the PD on American jets is whats causing the SARH issues. Watch when fox3's come out America will again be at 80% the capability of the Russia counterparts.

I mean its a game and not a historical documentary thats interactible. Also if we were to make things realistic then half of the russian tech tree becomes flying garbage cans and you would have to buy t34s every 200ish kms. Or german tanks get deteacked after making a sharp turn. Or every single one of your tech trees would have limited number of troops that would take weeks/months to restock.

As for the f4s performance its highly debateable. Personally the plane is mediocre and best works as a support plane for your teammates. Nearly every plane outperforms it and its only saving grace is its weaponry. The one thats feeling incredibly bugged as all hell.

They made changes to radar and apparently you cant manually change settings anymore, I know there are some good tinfoil hat russian bias conspiracies going on but its in the actual changelog if you want to see what they did.
And no nobody likes the radar change so it probably wont last forever im guessing.

Yeah its kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ busted,I've had accidents where it kept switching radar modes while I have the target got locked under good conditions.

The problem wouldnt be if it got nerfed or not but rather things not working as they should. If you have a target thats flying straight at you while not paying attention, you would expect your missile to hit that target and not to just fly way past it like its blind.

Also tried the r60s myself with my german mig21 and those definitely feel somewhat stronger or at least being a bit more resistant to flares.

I have played the French F-1C and the 550s and Magic-2s perform perfectly. The AIM-9s and AIM-7s just don't work. I have seen videos where people try to debunk the bugs in the AIM-7 in particular. But they lie. The best explanation is that it is a server side issue where the server believes lock was lost, but it wasn't. So the server nukes the AIM-7. Right now I don't use the AIM-7s in particular because they just don't work.
