Errors and Crashes after new update. Aces.exe missing
As the title says, I've done everything humanly possible in terms of fixes going all the way back 8 years of searching for every possible solution and 3 hours of applying fixes. After I finally fixed the Aces error, the client just crashed again with a FATAL ERROR [Freeze detected Call stack(7frames). Patch this please I'm on the verge of giving up on the game entirely. No i will not dedicate more hours to attempting to run the game on my end. That's completely unreasonable at this point since every update has major gamebreaking issues for players.

Try verifying game files.
In Steam, right click on the game, select properties, go to local files tab and press verify integrity of game files.
or have you try to reinstall it ? for it work just fine after the update

I've also replaced the aces files, directly and with steam integrity checks 3 times total each for 36, 64 and steam launchers. It finally let me launch after the 64bit one but that followed with the FATAL error and just undid all my progress. That's when I gave in and just reinstalled. Same issues. I've checked my drivers and everything.

and have you try to install their own launcher ? and see if you get the same thing ?

Funny how for me "aces.exe" tried to access protected system files when launched through Steam (windows defender notified me). And after it fails to do so it just logged me into linked acc without saved settings. But not in main account.
After that I tried to launch from game launcher and it booted just fine.

i think you just got false positive that is a classic with games or steam

Before this update all worked just fine. idk what changed.

with the rubber banding, problems on the other games by same company after the major patches all released on the same day I'm not surprised but give it a week or two and see if they resolve the server issues and client stability

Update: Found a fix

Scrolling through some old forum posts found a fix. If you also get the Aces.exe missing error - Reinstall game through steam>War Thunder> right click>Browse local files>win64>launch Aces
A launcher should pop up and start updating. Hit play and game should launch through launcher. Use guest login to test everything works, play a game then shut game and add the the win64 Aces as non steam game to steam library. Launch again from steam and you should no longer get the error. If it works, go back to the steam version and try starting it. If an error pops up just close the error and the game should still launch normally.

Fix your ♥♥♥♥ Gaijin this is an old error and your tech support has the gigabrain 'help' of "just update drivers".
