However, the BMD-4 has much faster turret traverse, is 5 tons lighter, has a transmission that allows it to go 70km/h forward AND in reverse (BMP-3 is 70km/h forward and 20km/h in reverse). So I would say that the BMD-4 is much superior overall, but is also quite expensive on the Gaijin Market.
They both have the same weapon systems but.
BMD is Faster both forwards but also in reverse, it can lock into air targets, has less ATGM's and has a better turret traverse speed.
BMP is slower, very slightly better protected frontally and has more of the ATGM's but cannot lock onto air targets.
Ultimately BMD is [IMO] better as the speed just makes all the difference as you can get into really good positions insanely quick.
