1. how in the hell is a tigers frontal armor 500mm ( please tell me if it was angled at all )
2. "SHORT barrel" guns really have to effect at close distance and plus it just matters how large the round is
3. The SU - 122 was not ment JUST to be a artillery peice . . . if you look at the WW I I russian archives you should be able to find many different situations were the SU - 122 was used as "Infatry suporrt vehicle" a "Anti - tank vehicle" and as a Howitzer becasue the 122 was NOT an Artillery piece but was normaly ( which means almost all the time ) used as a Howitzer which is very different from a Artillery piece.
oh and can you give a screen shot of the replay of the angling of the armor plz (: and thank you
OP never said that. "destroyed a TIGER frontaly at 500m..." means it was 500m away from the tiger at the time.
oooooooo i though i saw 500 mm ( Armor ) sorry XD
but at that distance it still does not make much difference because the round is the thing that pens it becasue of the exposives not becasue of the velosity normaly . . . but haveing velosity does help
No worries, easy enough to confuse :D
That's not true at all.
lol the tiger II is classified as a Korean War tanks becasue of how advanced they were
( as an example of how advance they were they were close to profecting the Ground to air Missile ) and i have drivin german tanks ageints russian tank and i ahve never had any problems
Well, it was M-30 howitzer, not a AT gun. For suporting infantery it uses HE shell and only HE shells. It havent AT capabilities (or AP shells), except indeed a very close range combat, when HE shells can blow up a turret of a german armor. But such close distance i guess it is in theory because SU-122 was suporting by T-34-85 or SU-76 (early) and this was stand behind of tanks in real combat. A short barrell cannot imprime enough muzzel velocity to the shell to penetrate such an armor. For Killing the Tiger or other heavy german tanks, there are many other russian tanks/SPG, like SU-100 (the best), IS-2, etc. So.....at 500 METERS DISTANCE (not milimeters...), to PENETRATE FRONTAL 102mm ARMOR OF A TIGER WITH SU-122 HOWITZER, IT IS A BIG ERROR AND A FALSE THING !!!
besides that your profile is a lvl 0 private one and thus probably a troll, ever thought about that the su-122 isn't about the penetration but about the explosion? the thing is a howitzer and will knock your crew out or dmg vital parts of your tank.
And the Tiger 1 isn't known for it's armor.....,
