What the hell is wrong with shermans?

I'm seriously getting sick of this ♥♥♥♥. How the ♥♥♥♥ can the ♥♥♥♥ armor of this ♥♥♥♥ tank block a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 88 AP round at practically point blank? WTF??? The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing is invincible, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ another game with OP americans. I'm so dissapointed it's ridiculous.

Partly Shermans, partly the idiotic damage system where, according to gaijin logic, any angle on armor turns shells into tennis balls.

Yeah, most people are feeling this way. Except for the people that are driving the Shermans. I mean, look at this logically, do any of us actually think that the devs magically got everything perfect with a new nation being added that is still in beta testing? Most likely not. However some will probably come in and defend the Shermans with some witty one liner like, "Git gud", or "Just shoot 'em in da side", or whatnot.

I'm not sure if it's just that they aren't done farming with the OPness, or they aren't done pub stomping with the OPness, but that is what happened in another thread.

Really? I primarily use Shermans and have been having the opposite effect. Not doing much damage at all and getting taken out in 1-2 rounds.

Which Sherman are you shooting at? The only times I find I reliably bounce rounds are when I drive the M4 and the M4A1 at around BR 3.7. At around BR 5.0 I only see it with the Sherman Jumbo.

Otherwise I have rounds going through my front armor and turret all the time. I get 1 shotted a lot. That or my turret ring or gun is taken out on the first shot.

ok ok, today, i can't count how often my 75mm german AP ate shermans for breakfast. They tuned the round and now shermans are definetly not so OP anymore.

Yes, at around BR 3.7(for me anyhow). Even in Russian tanks at that BR the Shermans seem OP, and the German tanks at that BR get totally rekt.

Just to explain a bit further, I am talking about going up against an enemy team with almost nothing but Shermans in it. And as long as the enemy team is remotely competent you won't get the side shots that you need to kill them reliably.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the statement that the Shermans are very Over Powered. But the question shouldn't be "Why are Shermans over powered?", but rather "Why are beta tanks on the live server to begin with?". Why ON EARTH would Gaijin drop beta tanks into the live server? Problems like this arise whenever there's stuff like this comes up? Shame on Gaijin for putting money before solid game play

Absolutely no problem taking out a M4/4A1 even from the front with the Panzer IV F2. Even took out a few (105) Shermans through the front. They are also not good at ranges of about ~600 meters. Granted this may be because I have the Shermans and have just gotten use to where they can be taken out easily. The transmission cover in front is weak and will almost always result in a fire.

Also people like to take out new things when they become avaliable so when the US tanks came out all I saw where US light tanks. Since now more of them have been released there are more Shermans overall as people try to spade them out before more tanks come out. So as there are Shermans for a while, it makes sense that you seemed to be killed by them all the time as the ratio for now is larger.

Is it going to stay that way, no idea but I can say this from my time in the Shermans. The Panzer IV F2/G/H, KV-1 Zis, StuG F/G scare me since a decent one can and will one shot me if given half a chance.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that EVERYONE is driving a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sherman. Of course most of the BS things that happen are going to involve shermans. Hey everyone, if 50% of WT drove Tiger I's then we'd have a bunch of "Tiger is op" threads.

Shermans are far from OP. Their ammo crates are very, very vunerable, and their turret tread is very weak.
Theirs just a lot of them, So, Like in WWII, Most other countries get swarmed by them.

And if you're fighting a jumbo sherman, it could survive an 88mm round. that was it's purpose.
