FIXED it!!!!!

Hi,

Just downloaded WT.

Didn't work through steam, tried the direct launcher.exe from file location said" htm.layout.dll" was missing.

Found this site after 3 hours. http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?htmlayout

Go to manual fix. download your version. Then extract the file and place just the htm.layout.dll file extension in your WT folder in steam apps.

Now WT works.

glad you could understand my instructions man :p i had another problem too (memory crash) in which case you just check files in the settings of the launcher itself and not on steam

Where is the direct launcher.exe at

it is situated in your War Thunder file location. If you go to steam and right click on War Thunder, go to properties and then local files. under local files click on "Browse Local Files".
It should be in there, just look for it.

While I realize the user before you did a three year necro making this only a 1 year necro, you're going to get better help by posting in the "Technical problems" section and explaining the issue you have there, than expecting a user to come back 4-5 years later.
