Can't start the game

Just now i install and start the game, nothing happens even launcher
so i start by Administrator "htmlayout.dll is not found"
also i don't have aces.exe file
i did verify Integrity but nothing changed
i don't have any antivirus just MSE(WIN8.1 )

I've just finished downloading the game too and I'm having the same issue.
Starting from the steam page does nothing. Starting the launcher with/without 'As Administrator' results in "The program can't start because htmlayout.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem" error message. There is no 'aces.exe' file in the steam folder. Running Verify Integrity successfully validates all files (doesn't detect anything missing/corrupted).
Also running Windows 8.1.

Same - Windows 8.1. Have reinstalled, tried again, still nothing. loading icon spins for a bit then stops. Not even a steam window showing an error message or it showing up on task manager.

i dont know why but the htmlayout.dll missing is definitely an issue with the launcher itself - and since the launcher cannot be started it cannot download missing files and/or repair itself =/

atm i'd say the best was to solve this is to download the latest launcher installer from the warthunder.com website - http://yupmaster.gaijinent.com/launcher/current.php?id=WarThunderLauncher

when running the installer you NEED to make sure that the destination folder is set to the current (Steam) game folder which by default should be
c:\program files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\War Thunder\ (still you should check this beforehand) so the installer is overwriting the existing launcher files in the game folder (or it will start the download from scratch and install the standalone client)

also at the end of the installation process you should untick the 'create desktop shortcut' option or it will replace the current (Steam) War Thunder shortcut and will start the game directly without Steam in the future (unless you start the game within Steam ofc)
