How much damage is needed for destroying a base?
Simple questions:

-How big of a payload (kg/lbs) is needed to destroy a base on arcade/realistic/simulator battles?

-Also how much is needed for the destruction of the airfield on ab/rb/sb?

-How much is needed for sinking a carrier on ab/rb/sb?

-Also is there any difference in between maps for this?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

well in realistic:

a base is 3x500 kg bombs or 8x250 kg bombs.
in lbs it is 3x1000 lbs or 8x500 lbs.

a airfield is double the max load of the best bomber judging from br on your team. (so let's say you get in a match with br 6.7 planes and are flying america then the airfield load needed will be 2x the max load for the b29 because the b29 is the biggest load on br 6.7)

if you end up playing a sea map the carriers just need the same amount of bombs as the bases :P

as of arcade i am blank :P at br 6.0 the load used to destroy a base is about 4000-6000 kg or 8000-12000 lbs

and the airfield is about 5-8 times the max load for the biggest bomber

and last the map doesn't change the load needed to kill a base, airfield or carrier :D

thank you

It also depends on the type of bomb. A japanese 800 kg ground bomb does same damage as german 1 ton bomb so you just need to learn it for different countries.

Yeah different bombs have different TNT loads.

Well I think that bombs got nerfed as I dropped exactly 1500 kg on a base and a sliver was left. I'm told it's now based on the tnt value and not the kg.

The bases are now 5.25 tons to destroy completely (at least in Tier IV).

Easy to verify as my larger bombers can carry 11 tons and taking a base out never awards more than 5.25 per base in the stats.

As far as I've noticed D0-217, both the tier 3 and tier 4 versions carrying 4t of bombs are good to destroy a base in one run.

Edit : and yes, it's important to pay attention to the explosive contained in a bomb, especially Japan, they have 800kg ground bombs with around 300ish kg explosives, and 800kg anti-ship bombs with around 30kg of explosives. The latter won't do much harm to a base.

Does it matter were I drop the on the airfield? If I hit a building with it, does it do more damage?

[Edit: Sorry, double post deleted]

I *believe* That the amount of damage relates to the distance from the marker (purely based on personal observations - I seem to get noticeably more damage if I drop everything at the marked point instead of spreading it along the runway).

Note that this is purely anecdotal, hopefully someone can chime in with a blog post/similar that answers this definitively.

Just to be clear... Doesn't matter if I take a base in 1 run or two, as long as I take the base out entirely myself, I get 5.25 "Tons of TNT" in the stats screen. This is really consistent (eg 2 bases always gives 10.5)

Somethimes I drop 3000 lbs. on a base w/ my b25 and there is still a sliver left. Why? Did they bump up the bases health?

I noticed an increase too (I think it's 6.5 Tons now) but that happened at about the same time I unlocked Tier 5, so I'm not sure if it was a game-wide change or if it's tied to the level of the match you're playing.

Replying to everyone, the amount of bombs needed is reliant on the explosive filling (a British 500lb will kill a base below br6.0 with 11, whereas an American 500lbs will kill with 7), and from 6.0, the amount of TNT filling required to kill a base (remind you that it is 1.5 tons of explosive filling per base from <6.o to kill a base). goes up

Sweet, nice spreadsheet. Now although I do appreicate you sharing the info this is a necro, and because of that I'm going to lock this thread. But if you wish feel free to create a more recent thread discussing this topic.

Cheers. o7

Locked.
