How is that USA in generals problem? i live in the US and i have fiber...

many countries are well on thier way to offer free access broadband for the entire country...USA, not so much. Corporate capitalism prefers high useage bills over nationwide access.

considering the size of the US and the population, not viable
razberrie May 7, 2015 @ 11:08am
it's VERY viable, and the ball is rolling as we speak.

do a search for the Google Internet aircraft/drones.

these jumbo jet sized unmanned solar powered aircraft can supply broadband for months without having to land or maintain, these suckers are huge and they fly well above the 30K commerial flight range and below satellite orbit range... They are already FCC approved and they were product testing them in the ABQ NM area not too long ago, and are planning on providing access to third world nations right off the bat.

The problem here in the US is that they are still bickering with cellular networks here due to the market economy and legal corporate proprietary bullpoo.

if you dont live in a city in the usa your boned internet wise. i live in the uk now in the countryside and get a steady 50mbps down and i could get 100mbps down where im moving soonish is 20mins away from a largish town with an ivy league university and i can only get 1 isp with a max of 3mbps... makes me want to cry. but then all i want to know is it good enough for a decent connection to warthunder with acceptable lag

I've never heard of that, and im quite sure countries in EU won't get that. It's not even a plausible dream for most of us, let alone reality.

As for your connection, sure, try it out. It should be playable, just don't expect good ping.

yeah, satellite internet has good download speeds, but awful upload, the latency makes it impossible to play games online. They also limit data useage during thier peak hours (which seems like 'most' of the time)

it will be obsolete tech soon, as it has never really improved for the duration that it's been available.

i was looking at them and then was advised not to, so thanks for the advice. the internet ill have is with frontier. frontier are literally the only viable option in the area we dont even get twc or comcast or atnt i dont care about how bad the company is as long as the speed is decent and it doesnt cut out

You'll be fine as long as no other connection is running at the same time i.e. Youtube. Where I live I have 5B up and 1 MB down.

The ping is the most important so you and them are not rubberbanding through the battlefield. I can play WT with the internet radio via the WT client and/or Teamspeak running with no issues.

The worst part is any game updates take so long to download.
