T2 in T1?

i am aware of the genral workings of how the BR system works, but it seems that the m4a1 sherman (a T2 tank) is in T1 battles VERy often. like, 4 on each team. why this tank so much more than other than other T2 tanks? and while im at it, are the American tanks better than German/ Russian? cause its a mixed bowl foe me.... the T-50 russian tank seems indestructible to any american tank

Ignore the Era, the MM works on BR, there's no such thing as tiers. The tiers were removed several patches ago.

as a starter it's pretty damn frustrating to face several M4 Shermans in your reserve-tank, that's for sure.

Doesn't happen. Lowest BR M4 (M4A1) is a 3.3, a full 2.3 above the reserves which is well outside of the +/- 1.0 that the matchmaker works with. You need a M5A1 Stewart or M22 Locust before you can start seeing Shermans.

actually you start seeing shermans when you have the M3 Lee in your line up if i remember right that tank's BR is 2.7 and the stuarts are 2.0 and 2.3 i think.

I had a StuG III with me, BR 2.3. It's just annoying for starters, when you have only one "good" tank researched yet and the rest is your reserve.
The matchmaking should be for tiers. This would be much more interessting in my opinion.

i know! and for the guy who said shermans dont show up when youre pushin reserves.... wrong. i get one/2 shotted constantly. and cant seem to dent em in return....

And as I say to everyone who fakes this kind of stuff so they can crap on the BR system, prove it. Show us the screen shot of your reserve only lineup meeting a sherman in a live server arcade battle. It's easy to do, both War Thunder and the Steam overlay provide screenshot abilities.

Seriously, the BR system is infinitely better than the previous, inflexible system. The only difference is that this requires a modicum of intellect to understand, at least as far as arcade goes. Remember when Yak 9s and P-39s were at lower ranks and COULD NOT BE UP RANKED? Remember the nearly infinite complaints on the forums about imbalance? Even though you whiners constantly try to stir things up your posts don't even number a tenth of the rage there was at the previous system. Gaijin balance vehicles based on real performance data now, which isn't necessarily the best method but I doubt they have the ability to hire the number of testers neccessary to do a controlled study on each and every combination of aircraft.

im sorry, but i just aked a simple question on how stuff like this works. i dont feel any obligation to prove that i saw a certian tank multiple times to a strangar. thank you but no.

BR is very simple to understand

It matches you to the the range of -1.0 (your highest tank on your bar) +1.0

If I have a 1.0 a 2.0 and a 3.3 on my bar.
BR Matches me to 2.3 - 4.3 BR tanks.
It matches you to 1/3 from each nearest bracket BR

So if you have a 4.7 3.7 3.7 you are matched to 3.7 - 5.7
If you have 1.0 1.0 1.3 you are matched to 1.0 - 2.3

I have seen numerous times people come into battles with a 4.7 on their bar while their other tanks are 2.3 / 2.7... Pretty obvious what happens to them.

Point is... You will never have an over advantage there will always be tanks you can easily destroy, and tanks that will easily destroy you. Sure the BR system could use some fine tuning, but I have never had an issue with it.
