Yeah, this is the reason. It may be a little unfortunate for historic purposes in a historic based game, but at least it allows those who wouldn't be allowed to play, to play without any concerns. Of course, you can use Player made skins from the live site, which only you can see. Some of these historical skins do have Swastikas, but again, as only you can see it, it effects no one else.
They already have the Balkenkreuz on the wings, adding it onto the rudder would be a bit IMHO.
That black 'x' clearly indicates that a swastika would have been there.
That is my point, in Heroes and Generals, they use something similar, but a fancier version than the normal cross.
But wasn't the Wehrmacht the Nazi's army? For example, the Heeresadler was a decal on the Wehrmacht's infantry helmet...which is the same symbol that the Nazi's used.
Yes, they were. I'm talking about the + symbol they had, that they also have on TONS of their stuff.
Sure, the Wehrmacht was their "tool" but in the end, it was a numbers-game -> the cross was not that tainted as the swastika.
For non-germans it is hard to understand this but it was one way to get rid of the political beliefs of the nazi partie. By the way, in Germany and Austria the Hitler salute is a punishable offense.
This makes perfect sense to me. The Wehrcacht werent neccisarily connected to the Nazis, but they were just the armed forces in the country at the time.
If they put swastika's in game every 13yr old 4chan user would have hundreds of them slapped around their planes/tanks.
