Long que times for realistic battles?
What gives? I have been waiting for almost 5 minutes for a "realistic battle". Does everyone play arcade?

Queue times for RB really depend on what time of day and what vehicle you are using. Queues for the US aircraft are usually lengthier because on average there are more US players in the queue.

Generally you will want to try playing at prime time (This is a good indication http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ ) And try using aircraft which are not commonly used.

You do realize that prime time varies from country to country, right? The only time I actually have time to play is during US prime time, and it it's still a bloody waiting simulator at present. I just can't be bothered to wait and wait so I usually go back to play other games.

lmao Hans are you lurking on every WW2 game's forums?

But ya Hans is right, its a waiting simulator. It really sucks because I actually hate the aracde battles in this game (tanks).

Same here; and I'm not too fond of Realistic Tank Battles either. Prefer being able to actually make use of concealment. Of course; then you run into the issue of enemies potentially having the grass and foliage turned down/off...

No, prime time does not vary from country to country. There are points of time in the 24 hour period when more players are online. You can observe those points in time on the steam player graph I provided previous.

I play during the worst possible time of day when the player count is low because it is the only time I can play. I very rarely have to wait more than 2 minutes, simply because of my choice of aircraft/tank. If you want to use a particular vehicle then you wil have to wait longer, that is just how it is.

Prime time for WT is somewhere between 15:00 to 22:00 GMT/UTC, i.e. from late afternoon to midnight in Europe and Russia, because majority of players is from these regions. When I am playing in the morning or late night (I live in a Europe), player count is really low compared to evenings, I would say 3 times smaller.

For some reason, Europeans are always vast majority in flight sims, I used to play Rise of Flight and Sturmovik before and it was the same. Look at Gladiators WT tournament for example, in SB, 13 teams signed for the tournament and not a single one is from USA. Meanwhile small countries like Czech republic with Slovakia have 4 teams, or Serbia 2 teams.

I'm using the default T26 tank that comes with the Russian 1 tier. I have no other tanks to choose from besides the German P2.

I just feel like this game can seriously benefit from having a server browser....

Lack of advertising in the states I assume. Hell even IL2 rarely shows up on the front page of steam.

Primetime for television is not the same as the primetime for War Thunder. Also, nice 2011 television articles.

You don't say? If you actually worked in marketing like I did for a few years until I changed careers, you would know that Milliennials and Gen Xers are turning of the tradition "tube" and turning on Youtube, live streaming services like Twitch TV and Net Flix.

Ok, so you want realism? The act of waiting is a major occupation of armed forces all around the world, it's to get you into the realism mood ;)

And yes, I play almost only AB.

So if I click simulator would I have to wait months and years to get into a plane?

Not quite that long, depending on the aircraft you use (very important) you can wait for anywhere between 10 - 45 minutes to get into simulator battles. I once waited for 30 minutes to get a game in an F4F Wild cat but I've never been unlucky enough to wait longer than that.
