Yes, indeed it will.
The German tanks were far superior, however were vastly outnumbered. This is where the American strengh lay.
Also, lets not forget Firefly Shermans were quite a capable little machine.
The early models of the Sherman were armed with a 75mm gun that was pretty much incapable of penetrating the armour of a Tiger frontally even at very close range.
But the sides and rear of the Tiger were still vulnerable to this gun at decent ranges up to some 650m or so.

And then there's the later models of the Sherman like the American one armed with an improved 76mm gun, as well as the British Sherman Firefly variant with a 17pder gun. Both of these were fully capable of knocking out Tigers frontally at usual combat ranges up to and exceeding 1km.
Don't rely on stuff like that. This 5:1, 6:1 etc. ratio is just a myth.

Generally speaking, yes. It will probably wipe the floor with the 75mm-armed Shermans as long as it doesn't get flanked, and as long as the player keeps its distance to counteract any APCR ammunition or whatever Gaijin might throw in. But once you see the upgraded Sherman variants, the Tiger meets its match.
As for other US tanks out there: There's a number of them you can expect to see who will be able to fight Tigers effectively: The M10 and M18 bring the same 76mm gun as the later Sherman variants, and the M26 and M36 even bring a 90mm gun to the battle, and the M26 is generally a tough match for the Tiger. And those are all just the vehicles that actually went into full production and saw combat action during the war.
Next to these, there's also a good deal of heavy tank prototypes that were not accepted in the end, and never saw action, like the T29, T30, T32, and T34. If Gaijin really needs a match for the Tiger II, they might go and include some of these. Obviously, they'd wipe the floor with a normal Tiger.
My bad. It's the one with the 20mm cannon.
It would be cool to see modes like "Kill The Tiger" where its a few tigers or some other high tier heavy vr a bunch of lower tier tanks. That would be fun as hell
As for the one in Fury, according to wikipedia it was an M4A3E8 Sherman, the "Easy Eight" with the 76mm gun.
