Why do you have a username in binary when you are not a computer? Same question.

Well they wanted a name that stands out. SEGA really stands for Service Games and is from the military

Yeah, but do you just answer at the "Questions to the Team" on the forum? Or Email them directly?

I will try asking one of the CM's on the main forum, if he does not know I'm afraid you will have to email Gaijin directly.

I'd also like to apologize for my earlier statement, I understand that was uncalled for. I hope you guys can forgive me and understand that us mods have bad days too :/

The question should be:
biased towards USSR.

If Gaijin were a US company it would be US biased, if it were a British company it would be British biased, seriously there is no Russian bias. If anything, with the battle ratings of US planes it is US biased.

I have NEVER seen or even heard of any "US bias" in any mmo or any other form of online gaming . There is just so much obvious buffing to anything russian it cant be denied , planes abilities/specs are better than they were in RL and the biggest of them all the download increase when the language is switched to russian ...

anyways back on topic...

No, it's the very same question with the very same answer: they liked the name and no one else had claimed it.

Boom! Question answered, thread closed.

Its probably more than just "they liked it" to Gaijin Entertainment.

More likely than not there isn't.

What do you expect? An exiting story full of mystery and intrigue? There are companies all over the world picking foreign names. Japanese companies with German names. German companies with French names. English names all over the world. So why would a Russian company with a Japanese name be anything speciel?

There's rarely anything behind it except: they just liked it.

To me, everything has a deep meaning behind it.

I have consulted one of the Community Managers on the main forum, he said this

"Two things, Gaijin - in Japanese means of Japanese origins but born outside of the national borders, in simple terms, natural foreigner."

He asked some of the Gaijin staff why they chose that name and none of them knew why, our best guess is that they simply liked the name.

I'm not sure if you're going to find a better answer than that.
