I JUST REALISED SOMETHING

The fact people can make custom skins for vehicles promotes the fact that someone can make skins for tanks and go to realistic and simulator battles with russian tanks but having all other tanks in high pink or blue colours so he can easily spot them, it can ruin the point of the game, if it does happen i dont know but i just thought that someone could do that to give them an advantage.

Nope, they can't, because the custom skin shows a) only for your tank and b) only on your screen. Other tanks will have one of the Gaijin camos on your screen and your custom skin will not be shown to them.

Using custom skin on your tank will turn your tank into an easy target in RB and SB. There is no advantage from it.

Actually not, they are visible on client only, this in avoidance of possibles insulting/derogatory contents, and because nazi symbols are against the law in some country, albeit historically correct in this kind of games.

I think what he meant was that one maybe could edit the textures for enemy tanks.

Should not be possible, as what textures are shown for the other tanks is controlled (I believe) server side and if you'd try to put in different textures it would show up with the server, as the files would mismatch (in size, in hash, in content).

People can't see your custom-made skins as was said, but what they *can* see is the decals you place on your tank, as well as the in-game camouflage patterns.
Decals used to be scaleable to ridiculous proportions, which ended in stuff like this:

It can matter when the spotting system doesn't assign a tag to someone you can actually physically see. E.g. if they have the sun behind them.

Yeah but i was saying like... you change skin of all german tanks... then get in game where all the german tanks are bright pink or something.. you can easily spot them through foliage and from far away and gives only you the advantage.

This isn't WoT. You can't end up doing that. Editing files here is an offense and considered hacking, also gets noticed I do believe.

I could have sworn I saw some custom camos before that weren't mine. Does gajin maybe upload custom skins that they approve of that are posted to their site or is it my imagination/unlockable in game camos/judictions use of decals?

I did notice that on the Japanese fighters there were unlockable camos that were player created as part of some contest, and then sanctioned by Gajin.

Yeah they do add some, ive seen it in the news, they added for christmas it was a festive naval spitfire i think.
