It's a mega thread for War Thunder's companion app, if it was a scam or malicious in some way the mods would have closed the thread and considering how long it's been around it's likely Gaijin would be forced to publicly announce that the app is scamming players and to steer clear of it. Mega threads will never be closed for being old and the Golden Eagles app is not a scam, it does give you GE, rather it is a data collection and distribution app as well as a place for a advertising mobile games to try and get new players hooked while they work towards the goal of free GE which apparently has worked well enough to keep the app running for like 8 years now.

It's not run by gaijin, they are a third party, I suspect gaijin would have it setup with far smaller GE rewards if they were given the reins.
