The ♥♥♥'s time to shine will be in naval anyways.
Which will be their biggest problem. Thanks to their thin armour relative to what they face, their raw firepower won't really give them an advantage at any range, because everyone else can punch through their armour at those ranges, too. :)

Less prototypes them you thought
Japanese won't get tanks that didn't exist. Infact a Germany is worse off. They get tanks like 105mm tiger and them Panther II that didn't exist. There's talk of E-75 too. The Japanese tanks will compete very well at the BR I set for them.
Let's start the comparison first with the Panther Tank. We all know that this was the best Medium tank of WW2... Nuff said. So magnificent, so elegant, so professional.
It's downside is... Too professional to the point it's too complex, takes a long time to build or fix.

Type 4 Chi-To (Potential 5.7BR medium tank)
After the death of Japanese Navy, the priority wasn't planes and ships anymore. The navy priority was replaced by tanks since Japan knew US would start the invasion of their home islands. Type 3 Chi-Nu was developed and was equal to late war Shermans. Japan however wanted more powerful tank. Type 4 Chi-To was designed in 1944 and two prototypes were finished by 1945. Only 4 half completed tanks were made after that, since war ended. (2 finished, 4 unfinished Chi-To's) Japanese industrial power was too weak to produce them fast. But it was a lot easier to mass produce than Panther. It was more simple and it was cheaper.
Weight: 30 Ton
Engine: 412HP
Power to weight: 13.7hp/t
Max Speed: 45kph
Size:
Height: 2.87m

Armour:
90-350mm on mantlet
76mm on turret front
50mm on turret front cheeks (100mm+ effective armour)
75mm on hull (86mm effective armour)
35mm on side hull and turret
25mm at rear
50mm at back of turret
Gun: Type 5 75mm gun
140mm pen from 500 with Senn-ei-dann shell (closest western counter part is APHE)
These 2 tanks are pretty similar in performance. Chi-To was very promising but never for the chance to shine and prove itself. But I can imagen how good it would do if it was mass produced and used outside of Japan. Chi-To did enter mass production but war ended too soon for the Chi-To.

And No, The IJA(imperial japanese army) had like 18 tank types. A few better tank types were indeed retained for home land defend but they were all working not that Proto bs.
Final word: Do research before you speak/type, it so easy.
O-I 100ton did exist (heck right now they are refurbishing it)
O-I 120ton is somewhere in Okinawa, destroyed by B-29 and it's beyond repair
O-I 130ton still exists. It's kept locked away from all public and they will deny it's existence.
It had 100mm on hull angled (170mm+ effective)
250-360mm in mantlet which is ricochet paradise
It's got no armour on sides and rear.
53kph max speed, 20hp/t power to weight (roughly)
Also it can point gun 10 degrees down, it can get itself ed down and obliterate everything
Oh gawd i'll literally cry tears of joy if this is all going to be developed for Warthunder :'3

I forgot about the fact that the Chi-To have auto load, ok that is OP...
