Downside is that the skirts are usually one-shot effective only, because they have a habit of just getting blown off your tank. Still, the H is the best Panzer IV version you can get.
The J model actually is a downgrade even over the G model. Compared to the G, it has the advantage of the slightly longer gun and turret sideskirts of the H model. But the disadvantage is that it no longer has a powered turret traverse, which means that your turret will turn a good deal slower than on the other Panzer IV versions. That's a disadvantage large enough to negate the advantages and then some.
Technically, it also has less view ports than the other versions, so it should theoretically be less able to spot targets around itself. Haven't really noticed a difference in that regard, though, so the main disadvantage is the slow turret.
Overall, I'd rate the tanks in this way: H > G > J.
Great description, could you perhaps help me to understand on how to use the PZ III "N" Model?
The low velocity doesn't help and I can't figure out or have any success besides using the HEAT rounds for it.
(I have almost all tanks unlocked on all factions and am currently using a 3.0 BR lineup to work on unlocking the skins for those vehicles)
The APHE shells have such an abysmal penetration that they're completely useless against most tanks you meet, unless it's the right model with weak side or rear armour, and you get close enough. Your reload is pretty fast, though, so it might be worth taking some along in case a situation like that presents itself.
I still researched it and bought it and spaded it, my spading OCD just got the better of me.
