The Toilet Bowl Bomb
http://www.eugeneleeslover.com/Humor/Toilet_bomb.html

A-1 Skyraider dropped a broken toilet on NVA positions due to lack of ordinance, first time I've read about it, thought I would share it here since the Skyraider is planned to be in the game sometime. There is a funny story that goes with it also, enjoy.

It wasn't dropped because of a lack of ordnance, but rather commemorating the massive amount that they had dropped up till that point.

"In October 1965, to highlight the dropping of the six millionth pound of ordnance, Commander Clarence J. Stoddard of Attack Squadron 25 (VA-25), flying an A-1H, dropped a special, one-time-only object in addition to his other munitions – a toilet."

If you would have read the link and looked at the pictures of the plane from different angles, you would see it is half full. The toilet is added on the ring wing where at least two pylons would have been empty, but only 1 after the toilet.

"For those too young to remember, during the Vietnam conflict, carriers were so woefully short of ordinance that missions were often launched with only a half load toilet4just to keep the sortie rate up so that the REMF's in DC would not send out blistering messages about failure to support the war effort, etc. "

That quote there and the pictures provide evidence to the statement quoted and mine as well. You were right about the reason why it was dropped, but not why there was room to drop it.

But instead of trying to prove me wrong, it could have been "yeah, that's pretty cool" or something along those lines. It's a fun thread. Does everyone need to be on the defensive all the time around here?
Not sure why you seem to think I'm "being defensive" or "trying to prove you wrong". I was merely correcting you. No need to get upset.

I should have wrote it as "Does anyone posting a thread need to be on the defensive here?". My comment and the link with it completely describe the situation with some cool video at the end. Yes, it was dropped to symbolize 6 million pounds of ordanance dropped, but it was also the flight teams last sortie. The control tower commander didn't even know until plane was hooked in and firing down the line catapult. It's a funny story and for anyone who has served before knows it's little actions like that which make your time easier. I'm not upset, just slightly annoyed at a conversation that was intended to be a funny random post turned into this conversation here.
add it into the game now gaijin
This is just...great! Haha!

That's hularious!!! When the A1 SkyRaider is added, Galijin should add a speciall Korea event that gives the A1 the Toilet bomb.

That would make my day to drop a toilet on some player in the ground forces.
